Mance really got with the spread in '05 with McCrackin but did experiment with it before hand. We (01-04) ran multiple offensive sets including spreading things out. Before that, huge lines and some workhorses in the backfield (Mabe, Brown, Davis, etc.) kept it pretty much a running attack. 
 
 
And on another note, to people who say that this board doesn't mean much.... It's funny that the day after RichlandsAlum posts about Mance's record on here there is a story in the BDT about it...

1992 was 23 seasons ago... I've been out of high school 10 years and I went to the Salem game, just a little prince of Raven at the time, and I barley remember it. I know for damn sure kids playing now know only the stories they are told and even have no idea who Dennis Vaught or Willis White is.
 
As for the refs in Bluefield, I played in a game up there where the refs made their presence known in the final outcome but again that was 13 years ago... 
 
They are bad referees everywhere and there are always two sides to every story but when you win by two touchdowns, don't complain about a damn thing, move on to next week.

All valid points I agree the schedule is tough and yes I think they are down a little this year. As for a kid or 5 quitting the team what has happened to the youth and parents these days. I am old school and yes I played for Appalachia 92 thru 94 season and had I went home and told my parents i had quit mid season well i would have been beat to death. Yes back in the day you could beat your kid and not go to jail lol. I hope they can get it together and represent SWVA in the playoffs. I for one as a Union and the rest of SWVA football fan hope to see all teams make a run and i really dread drawing Richlands or a down GC team in the playoffs. would love to see Union and Richlands 1 and 2 run the table cross bracket and play for the title if thats even possible. Excuse my ignorance on this system as I don't keep up with how it works past the 3rd round as thats as far as Union has ever made it haha. Good luck and safe travel to all teams this week. 

And another thing, watch out next week...some of the worst, home-cooked officiating and clock management I've ever seen has happened at Tazewell...so you've got that to look forward to...

And to be honest, I'm really befuddled as to why in the hell you're still complaining about the officiating considering your team won the game by two TD's...some things amaze me, but I shouldn't be surprised considering the source...

With Friday's win over Bluefield, Greg Mance appears to have tied Ernie Hicks as the all-time leader in head coaching victories at Richlands*.
 
* My records show Mance with a current record of 167-59.  No "official" record of all-time wins exists for Richlands, but a General Assembly resolution honoring Coach Hicks listed his record as 167-124-24 (I have the Master of the Clinch at 167-126-26, but I strongly suspect that I'm missing about a dozen results in my database).
 
Beyond the issue of win totals, Mance's winning percentage of .739 places him far and above any other coach in RHS history who has led the Blues for more than one season (although there are only six gentlemen who hold that particular distinction).
