  1. Graham is peaking at the right time, I'm going to say...Graham wins big... 49-21
  2. Graham beat Bluefield once this season. Bluefield and the Refs beat Graham once this season.
  3. Gilliam has also rated the districts in AA in the state and has The SouthWest rated #1 in the state this season, with the River ridge #2. Maybe it'll take somebody like Tazewell beating Pulaski again to shut them up.
  4. You heard it from me first, "futbolking"...35 -12 G-Men!!!
  5. The 84 team of Yost, Smith and Adkins did it on more than one occasion.
  6. For what it's worth...here goes my predictions 1. Graham 2. Richlands 3. Carroll 4 tie Grundy and Tazewell...
  7. Graham 42....V-High 13 (one score coming late....very late)...
  8. I've heard some really good things about the J.V. team...anybody got any info...how'd they finish up...key players...that sort of thing?
  9. Mike Patton, IMO was the best QB that I have seen at Graham, went on to play at Tech, but not at the QB position...
  10. can you read? I was talking about Graham's turnovers against Bluefield in the first contest....
  11. Graham's game plan will change. Yost is a much more mobile quarterback. Don't be fooled by Yost's performance throwing the ball last week. Richland's was in his face all night and the receivers didn't have any room to breathe. I think Yost did a good job getting rid of the ball when he had to. If given time, he'll do fine with the passing game. If rushed, he can get out of trouble, get rid of the ball, or throw it out of bounds. I think he adds a dimension to the team that they didn't have before. Nobody has scored on Richlands yet. Take away the 5 turnovers that Graham had in the last contest, and Graham wins by 2 or 3 td's....
  12. Have you forgotten that Workman accounted for 5 turnovers against Bluefield in that first game? I thought Yost did an excellent job getting away from pressure and throwing the ball away when his receivers were blanketed by the defense. He was truly running for his life out there
  13. ok i'm gonna make my official score prediction.... Graham 27 bluefield 8 mark it down....it's golden...
  14. Graham's secondary can flat out fly, but I think Bluefield's QB will be the fastest man on the field. Yost, Carper and Brown have burners.... I'm worried about the offense, because it seemed awfully sporatic against Rockbridge. Defense is solid....I just hope the offense can have some consistency about them come friday night. I can't wait, I haven't missed this game one single time in the past 30 seasons....
  15. Graham has a slight advantage in experiences, however Bluefield has the speed advantage and as all Graham fans know, they have big play capability every year. I say Graham will pull out a hard fought victory, simply because they have an outstanding defense this year. I look for Graham's offense to sputter if they try to throw the ball. Graham's strength will be in running the ball this season. I sure hope they don't try to run the spread and air it out a lot, because it's too early in the season for the qb to be honed. Later in the season, spread it out, open it up and let it fly. To beat Bluefield, Graham will need to control the clock and not give Bluefield's quick defenders a chance to come up with a big interception... what does everybody think?
  16. No offense to anybody, but Gilliam's ratings are not any type of official ratings or anything, they are basically something that Matt came up with and has fun with. I would like to see Richlands make it that far, but they haven't played one single game yet. We will know just how good everybody is when they actually see some real competition.
  17. [ QUOTE ] im comin [/ QUOTE ] It's hard to run very fast when you're lying on your back...and that's just what Richlands will do to Pulaski.
  18. don't give the starting job to workman just yet. Graham has another guy # 3, that I'm hearing really good stuff about. Very hard worker. I think he'll be playing safety for sure and spent some time at NC State QB camp. I wouldn't be surprised if he EARNS the job. I can't see anybody getting the starting position before practice even starts...Regardless, if Workman does get the starting job, the qb position looks solid for at least the next 2 seasons.
  19. i still think pocy should just ride the bus to graham and consolidate those 2 schools.
  20. we are talking football here, not track... the fastest guys on the field for Graham will be Steven Brown, T.J. Carper and Matt Yost.
  21. Actually, it's a 7 year deal, with WVU hosting 4....Marshall hosting 2.... and whoever wins 2 of the first 3 will host the 7th and final contest. Either way... WVU comes out the better.
  22. those of us who played soccer with Craig affectionately called him "wease"
  23. floyd will be hard to beat at home... they whipped carroll county the other night 5-1 and it should be much worse. I think floyd is upset over their losses in the tazewell tourney. on a dry field, the outcome would've surely been different, because of floyd's tremendous speed.
  24. word is up at floyd that floyd wants to play tazewell on the 16th when the girls play and make it a double header. I think we're just waiting to hear back from tazewell. anybody from tazewell heard this?
  25. i'd hate to get all the way down there and have to turn around and come back. I would like to know something definite before I leave.
