Agree. Also, keep in mind, Central Woodstock beat Riverheads the first game of the year and Cash did play for the most of that game.
Yeah he did, except for the drive that Riverheads needed to ice the clock and the last drive on defense. Riverheads is leading when he gets hurt and they lose when he goes out. So he did not play the two most important drives of the game.
Well.....its settled. Bluefield is wearing the ugliest uniforms of all time and beating the school record of mustard pants in the late 80s. Camo jerseys with black numbers and black pants. 🤮
Liam, however good Graham's is, then you will want to see Bluefield's. From what I told, Bluefield's Middle School took Graham apart a week or 2 ago. I don't know if this was 7th or 8th grade, etc, but Bluefield supposedly gave the GMEN middle schoolers their first loss in junior high in a while. But, don't quote me on that. I didn't see the game, and the info I got is from a Bluefield Beaver diehard fan I still play racquetball with occasionally.
Graham Middle has blown out every team other than Bluefield (loss 30-8) & a win over Tazewell (16-14)
A final note on an otherwise sloppy ugly game, a bright spot was the one handed catch by Blake Graham in the end zone. That was spectacular! Graham’s QB has an arm. Much work to do but hoping the coaches can get the best out this team. I said they need to prove themselves every game and I can’t say they’ve proved a lot tonight but there’s great potential for sure!
They TD catch wasn’t one handed. If you go back and watch it you’ll see he high points it and catches it with both hands and gets his feet in. Awesome catch.
What daily/weekly newspapers (or online sources) provide the best high school sports coverage in SWVA. I would guess that the most drive traffic to their website instead of a print edition. That's what the paper in Richmond does. Next to no high school coverage in the print edition until playoff time and even that is a smattering of games. the Fredericksburg paper once had a great prep staff and staffed 7-8 games on Friday nights with staff or stringers, plus provided an extensive roundup of other games. Its coverage was so good that it got to the point where high school football had its own section (usually 8 pages including college football previews, etc) on Saturday mornings during the regular season. All that ended when they shut down their printing plant and switched to being printed by the Richmond paper with an insane early deadline Now Friday night game coverage -- with a smaller staff -- is included in the Sunday edition. I understand that most Lee Enterprises papers have gone to publishing their print editions only 3 days a week now.

Admittingly, I am making this statement as an outsider and do Not claim to know the ins and outs of the SWD and what teams return, but from watching these teams last year (seen em all on video) at least twice, no surprise if Lebanon takes 2nd. Well, a little surprised. I expect Tazewell 2nd, but not shocked if Lebanon finished 2nd. Lebanon ain't finishing first, nor is Richlands, Tazewell, VH, or Marion.
