  1. Hey coacher, what is the Dawgs total points this year? scored and allowed? It can't be good
  2. Might as well do it now! Malik would more than likely been the starter next year anyway. I hope Cody doesn't let this get in his head too much, he is a good kid and can help the team in other places, maybe TE. Good luck Dogs! I hope things turn around soon.
  3. The stands are too close to the track on the outside, and the grass sidelines were too close to the track on the inside. For a long time they wanted to save the track, but this summer they tore out lanes 1 and 2 to make the sidelines more safe. I think that is what EH31 is referring to.
  4. They already dug up the 2 inside lanes from endzone to endzone for safety reasons. It was very danderous on the sidelines before the did that.
  5. If Devon Johnson was 100% This wouldn't be an issue to discuss. I'm not putting Union down, he is just that good. BTW, I am not a Blues fan either LOL
  6. Tazewell: Stevie Mitchem, Jeff Lamie, Rick Noel, John Rainey, Jessee Davis, Stephan Hollaway, Cokie Kitts, Quinten Reed, Ronnie Thompson, Mark Muncey. Robbie Collie punter
  7. Not sure why and no thanks! Lol
  8. Last session tomorrow at 9 am for middle and hs kids.
  9. I agree Lance! The afternoon session got a huge surprise yesterday when Devin Carter, Jessee Dong and Pete Yates, 3 VT wrestlers, came in to instuct the kids. It has been a great week of wrestling so far!
  10. Awesome! I have taken my son for past 3 years. Grundy Wrestling Club has really taken care of the youth in our area. I wish more people understood the effect they have had on all area wrestlers, by having free camps, to inviting kids to practice with them for free, and even coaching my son and other area wrestlers at tournaments we couldn't attend due to a conflict with scheduling. Thanks GWC!
  11. This may be a direct reflection of his boys being devoted to the football program also. Any idea how the girl's sports faired during Sr's time?

  13. Bland rockets. Red or maroon and white. Rocky gap eagles or flying eagles I think.
  14. Her mother was a standout at Tazewell too.
  15. The first round of playoffs that year was a great game too! Gmen-7 Tazewell-3. Dennis Vaught was at Tazewell that year and we came out in the spread for that one game. Those were some big boys up front.
  16. Success at the Middle School level doesn't always translate to Friday night wins. Sometimes MS coaches have a superior athlete at that level and its all about winning. Then in turn, HS coaches spend 2-a-days teaching kids the basics, instead of reviewing and tweaking these kids that should know fundamentals already. Practice time is lost, and Friday nights get longer.
  17. So Region 4 division 3 championship at Wise? With all this talk, wouldn't it suck for Martinsville and Cave Spring if they both made it? Its posssible...

  19. maybe you should take over at THS with all your experience! I mean in one post you played in Tazewell in 2003 and in another you attend RHS! Please come to Tazewell and share your great knowledge with our football program! Hahahahaha
  20. 3 so and 2 fr starting on defense, 4 so and 1 freshman starting on offense. But the key is 2 jr and one sr that are starting either never played football before, or havent since little league. YOUTH!!!!! have also lost 5 lbs that either started or were getting significant playing time. These kids are working hard, stay positive!
  21. The problem with transfers is that if they come in and start, they are taking the spot of a kid that has worked his tail off to earn the same spot on the team they dreamed of playing on for years. Now a transfer here and there usually won't cause a problem, but in Richlands case, this situation will be magnified. First because the quality of players they are getting. Second because of how many transfers there are, and third, because every kid in Richlands is dying to play on Friday nights. This can get ugly if they are not careful. You don't have to go back too far, Tazewell in the 90s with some Big Creek kids, to see what can happen to a program getting lots of transfers. Kids and parents start resenting these players and coaches.
