It is possible to quote someone AND write in the same post. See, I just did it.

It's also possible to edit a post after you make it.

EDIT: See, just did that, too.

Easy.... Everybody chill out. Falcons have to take care of business for two more weeks . Then we can talk smack(and get rid of Ryan). I have never watched a playoff game in Abingdon. Hope it happens. My personal opinion is that this is a building year for the next two years. Time will tell. 4-6 to 7-1 is still a winning season in my book. 9-1 and I am buying moonshine shots for the entire site. Good luck and good health to everyone this week!

Huge win by Abingdon. Well played and what a game plan. Going to be fun seeing you the 31st in Tazewell.

A huge CONGRATULATIONS to you guys!

Stripes should "pee" in the Abingdon water cooler, that way the bad taste left in their mouths won't just be the beating they will take Friday night.

Seriously, I can't see Abingdon winning this game. They may keep in close but Richlands has found their "mojo" and are playing great football right now. Having a week to prepare for Abingdon is also scary. The new kid for the "R" looks like a real player and he has had a full week to get the game plan in.

Look out A-Town, the big blue wind storm is coming!

Graham will win. They may not be very good but they have enough athletes to hang 40 or more on Bland. Meade is a quick runner and honestly can be hard to contain. (I'm assuming he is playing)

I've heard a lot this year about the coaches at Graham and if true it is a shame. I've watched Graham twice this year, once against VA High in the scrimmage and against Tazewell and there is a ton of promise with that team. Lots of good looking kids and some real quick athletes.

I think they win 2 of the last 3. Fort will be tough for them.

I think Tazewell gets back on top this week and whips OPEN by a 52-12 score! OPEN scores late on the J.V. team.

Richlands however will struggle this week by overlooking their OPEN opponent and get outscored 5-3. OPEN scores late on a bad snap at the goal line.

    Just for fun!

Both teams enjoy your open weeks, get healed up and finish the year strong!!! Keep up the momentum Richlands, you are playing great ball right now.

Tazewell, get back to the basics, heal up and come out strong for the remainder of the year.

On a side note, in all the years I've traveled to Marion for games, the people working the gates and concessions are 1st class. One of the best places I travel and get treated great.

One thing that really scares me Friday night is the weather. 80% chance of rain. Kinda helps a team with a huge running back like Marion has.

Hmm, interesting observations all around. On offense, Bluefield will be hard to stop. However, Richlands has the ability to play physical enough to offset some of what Bluefield does. They may contain the Beavers a little more than what people think.

On defense, Bluefield has shown they are slow to play the pass. They have speed everywhere but they can be passed on. River Michaels has shown some impressive ability to throw the ball the pas couple of weeks and I see it again Friday night.

Will Richlands be able to score enough to contain the high flying Beavers? Probably not but I do think they will keep it close.

I'm not making a prediction on this one but it is by far the most interesting game this week in high school football for the area.

As a Tazewell guy, I hope the Beavers only beat them like 7-0 but beat them up really well. :)

Might as well give my $.02, I'm not drinking the blue koolaid or the beaver juice either.  Going on on what I have been told, Bluefield should run all over Richlands and will score at will.  However if they are able to pass Richlands should be able to score and keep up.  I think it is going to come down to which is the more physical team.  At this point I would say Richlands is more physical and can wear down Bluefield since I believe their starters have yet to play a full game.  It all depends on how quick the beavers can jump out on them and put them in a hole that they can't climb out of.

Enough of the rambling and my random thoughts, could be wrong but I have to take the beavers by 17.

Richlands wins but I do think Va High will play with them for a while. Just seems like one of those games that is a tough one. In the end I think Richlands will win by at least 20.

I agree with old_school, a loss in the next two weeks would not be surprising.  With that said there isn't a reason that they shouldn't win them.  What concers me as much as anything about he Marion game is looking ahead to the following week.  Now I'm not downplaying Marion in the least because they are a good team.  It just goes to say they need to make sure and keep their A game each and every week.

I was talking to someone last night from Wytheville and they said their team is still looking for their identity and have a long way to go.  Let's just hope they don't find it for at least another week!

I go to work 40 min away from home, which is no thrill of its own, then go back home and then go out the 10 min it takes to get to Bulldog stadium and am still extremely fired up for whatever may come.  I have even left straight from work just to get to games i.e. Abingdon and still have plenty of fuel left in my tank to get fired up.

I can't even try to type something without making myself laugh every time I read about wet balls...

First and foremost, thoughts with the young lady from Honaker. I have absolutely no idea what happened but the ambulance did take her out, they didn't seem in a big hurry for what its worth.

Now on to the game, GO RED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Opening kickoff was taken 95ish yards for a TD by Tanner O'Quinn with Jeff Bowen making a key block. Honaker came right back in typical Honaker style with a strong running attack and drove to the goal line before being stopped by a fumble. I truly believe that was the tuning point in the game. Haysi's Defense was able to get low and play tough, really slowing down Honaker's offense. Once Haysi got up Honaker wasn't able to play catch up.  Haysi was quicker, more aggressive and just as strong. Honestly I cant remember a lot of the details of the game. Honaker came out on the 1st drive of the 2nd half and had a long methodical drive for a TD but used a lot of time. From there on they had to pass and Haysi's quickness kept the QB rattled, he wasn't able to get set and really throw the ball. Honaker did have a very nice screen pass for a TD.

Bowen had a great night for Haysi. Idk his exact yards but he probably had around 250 yards of total offense, solid night for him.  Imo the unsung player of the game for Haysi was Tristan Yates, Bowen may have had a lot of yards but Yates running the ball inside held the defense and really kept Honaker's D from being able to focus on Bowen. And on just about every run Bowen had Yates as his lead blocker. Tanner O'Quinn had a lot of all purpose yards tonight too, very good WR and tonight he was a very good runner.

A lot of penalties against Haysi tonight, sloppy in that regard and they need to get that fixed or it will catch up to them at some point.

I have no idea how many people were there tonight but the stands were FULL by 6:15, easily the most fans ive ever seen at Sandlick.  Both crowds were big, loud and rowdy. Great atmosphere.

First undefeated season for Haysi since '93.
