  3. Im sure its been a rough year for coach but I think he's done a good job. You'll never be able to make everyone happy.
  4. Yesterday
  5. Only exception was Spears in 2015.
  6. William Anders is AD at Grayson. Temple Musser and Jerrad Blevins are the high school principal and assistant principal. I know the principals at the middle school and two elementary schools personally. He’s not one of them. According to the school website, James has no other role outside of football and weight lifting. Check it out for yourself. https://gchs.grayson.k12.va.us/en-US/staff
  7. Surely, he serves in some sort of administrative role, like A.D. or Vice Principal.
  8. LOL. Yea, just like Grahams yellow is gold. Ain't no yellow in those unis, just all gold
  9. This last couple of years teams the Super touted as being the best to come thru GC. Very sub par to clueless on offense. As far as the money goes wasnt one of the reasons GC petitoned to play down was financial hardship? Paying your coach 90 plus and installing a turf field? Most A/AA schools wish they had type of harship?
  10. He sure makes a lot to not be winning anything
  11. A lot of truth in that sentence. Parents and travel coaches making life miserable for the current coaching staff.
  12. Lack of numbers in general and lack of interest in particular is killing football in Southwest Virginia, I can see a day in the near future where a lot of these schools just quit playing football or combine teams! The decline and fall of the economy in SW Va. is in full effect and kids just don't care about football any more. I hope Battle can find someone who wants to be there and can be a serviceable coach for them.
  13. Because some parents only care about themselves and don't care what happens with their school team as long as their kid gets theirs. Plus, there is a lot of drama with that program.
  14. Why are these kids playing travel softball during their high school softball season? Absolutely crazy
  15. Yes but picture is to big to post.
  16. Grayson County pays Stephen James an administrator salary of roughly $85,000 (my bad-it's apparently much higher now-see for yourself by clicking the link) to coach football while the county-wide teacher salaries are among the absolute lowest in the state. https://govsalaries.com/james-stephen-boyd-167626032 Does that count?
  17. Dont disagree with u. Shes killing it this year
  18. I hate to hear this. I know that Battle didn't have the numbers, but the effort was there. I had been expecting them to turn the corner. Not regional contention level, but middle of the road playoff contention maybe.
  19. Does anyone have a blueprint or something of what Tazewell and Grahams field is gonna look like?
  20. Last week
  21. If it is like the old logo that we had before at one point, I love it. Actually have a magnet on the back of the truck with that logo. Use to put it on the car when going to games but hybrids have to much plastic on the back end 🙄
  22. I like that design too. The field is going to look nice. Somebody.showed me a picture of what it's going to look like. I like it. A lot of green and white and a thin black border around the edge. The bulldog within the "T" in the middle has some grey.
  23. That T/bulldog has been a major imprint on this town forever, the community wants that logo and the history that comes with it. I don't mind it, kids like it.
  24. The freshman might not had pitched for Richlands for a little bit, but she threw over 230 pitches in travel ball two days before. Richlands will be a factor, but it will be because of Rife.
  25. The equipment is on site at Tazewell and has been moved the last couple of days so I imagine everything is in place. I think the bulldog and the T both at the 50 will be a little busy too I don't love that logo anyway but it seems like the school is going to try to go to some uniformity and it makes sense its been too many random things for a long time
  26. Shocking but not that shocking news here. Coach Ricker has served JB well and will continue to in many ways. It’s a tough school to coach football at indeed but it has hope. The kids and athletes are there but the challenge is to get the athletes to come out and play at JB. Losing year end and year out is the current standard. It’s going to take a new leader and true program mindset to be established by the new incoming head coach. Hit those hallways and get the kids to come out and play. In popular opinion whomever takes over the helm needs to prioritize and establish on day 1 a new culture and identity. The weight room and nutrition needs to become a priority alongside a revamp of the entire offense and defensive schemes. There is a severe need to redesign the youth feeder programs- system and oversee the youth programs as the garden of future players . That’s where the love for football starts and the inner connection to the HS program is missing.
