I'll never forget 2013 for sure... both 9-0 heading in, standing room only at Sandlick, all the makings for an instant classic only for us to run that opening kickoff back for a TD and the game never being in doubt after that.

Do you remember the 2007 Monday night game that ended with a blocked field goal to end the game with haysi on the 2 yard line 😉? Haysi would have never got the ball back if it wasn't for me lol got called for holding and the drive stalled trying to run the clock out!

That Honaker state semi vs Essex a few years back was a helluva game to be at. Just crazy back and forth all the way to the end.

The Richalnds state title win was crazy too, with a blocked FG in the last 20 seconds to win.

Any of the Richlands/Union games that ended on the last play of the game were fun.

I don't think we have ever played Essex in football. Could be wrong but are you thinking of the Altavista game?

You don't need to be 'RUDE ' jarhead ! Flag end! If Richland players makes the play they should have then your homes this week. We'll  never know but that TD pass in first quarter. The receiver came down against the fence he was out of bounds. If that call had been made the Bears are scoreless with 2:00 to go in the game. Marion won't ba a push over.

The TD pass in the first quarter was definitely a touchdown seen the highlights on wcyb last night

I think beating MW is more impressive but Giles is an amazing win.

Maybe if MW hadn't had the QB trouble! I was at that game if the 2nd string QB hadn't got hurt that would have been a helluva win. That offense couldn't do anything at all in the first half!

I don't think our boys care about this board or what a bunch of has beens/never was players have to say week in and week out haha.  I told my son to stay off this board honestly.

Region D has good teams top to bottom.  But my opinion, Union is two or three scores better than every team in the Region.  And if they execute, they will win the Region by such scores.  It may be late in the game.  I'm not saying "no doubters".  And don't get offended.  I mean no disrespect.  Richlands battled hard to get in.  VHS gets to host for the first time in 25-30 years.  Graham has played solid ball all year.  Ridgeview has been the talk of the town.  So don't take this as cocky, arrogant, or disrespectful.   I'm going with gut feeling and some of the popular Transitive Property that we all look at from time to time.  Union has a ton of weapons at Travis' disposal.  You don't know who is gonna hurt you on any given game day.  And the Defense is tops in 2A.

But the game isn't played on paper.  It's played on the gridiron and the playoffs are fun to watch.  I pray each team has a safe, injury free run.

I think you may be underestimating Graham just a touch! I don't think union is 2 or 3 scores better than Graham at any point in the game.

They were better, but I don’t think head and shoulders. People are quick to forget, Cody Howie wasn’t able to play that game due to the ejection against Stuart’s draft. And anyone who watched Richlands play more than a couple of times know 2 things: Howie was the biggest playmaker on that team offensively and on special teams and he also really opened things up for the other receivers because of the attention he attracted from the defense.

Howie wasn't even the best WR on that team!

Which high seed is going to be ticked off when Richlands comes to their place for a Round 1 matchup?

I don't think anyone is going to have a problem hosting Richlands. They are just simply average at best this year.
