Yea it had to be very bad. Like everyone is saying so laid back so humble very good kid. Something had to be said that was very out of the way.

I disagree mildly. Coal declining has affected the area school as far as enrollment goes... which leads into a bigger issue that our leaders of SWVA never really cared about what happens once coal is gone. They made their money and got out when the getting was good. However, as far as local athletic talent, I chalk that up as a changing of generation. The current generation is a generation that wants direct praise. They are a very entitled bunch for the most part. Of course you will have a few kids who understand hardwork/reward but for the most part if a kid does not get what they want after a small amount of effort they usually quit. 
 
Also at play is so many outside influences... Travel sports (where most athletes are praised as the next all star player from that town because they are tossing crazy amounts of cash at the coach), video games becoming more of a lifestyle ( it is not mario anymore), academics (for the most part if you want to attend a quality school you become a "bookworm" and only that), and finally your one sport athletes (They eat, breathe, and sleep their chosen sport often to become a notch above Medicare). 
 
I truly do not think "the talent is leaving" because that would infer that they were going to other schools to be successful (you never hear of a kid transferring away and going D1). What we have is a flawed system where coaches are at fault for pumping one sport athletes from a young age. Nothing grinds my gears more than those kids parents who are playing travel baseball/basketball and only that 365 days a year.

I think the "worse" has surpasses us. I feel like the population of SWVA has stabilizes. I have no sources for that but I remember reading a few articles explainign this theory. 

Well I'm really hoping if he values education that Notre Dame offers him tomorrow when he visits for the Miami game. Aside from their obviously putrid season, ND does a heck of a job putting TEs and WRs in the NFL.... especially TEs. And Notre Dame can offer a top of the line education. If he doesn't go to ND id like to see him play for VT. Wherever he chooses, I'll be watching him on Saturdays and rooting for him.

Warrior's guy you are too funny. That wise arrogance is coming out in you cry cry and cry some more. Is it the fact your team sucks and always has or is it the fact you can't even say your team is from your own town. The school that is located in the city of Norton other wise known as the Wal Mart Warriors and if you have a problem ill be in the stands with a big ol cowbell can't miss it come on up and find me.

Oh no they are not all like me. I know they are high school kids but at the same time when is acceptable for their fans to call some of our players the n-word and cuss at them they way they do but it's ok because they are from Wise I'm sorry can't hurt nobody's feelings from Wise.

And yes I said his team sucks but how does that make his point valad he said union fans were saying stuff to the players. Maybe it was all them Norton fans that was there or maybe all the pound fans that feel like they've been rob of a team. Everyone knows since 1981 when j.j.Kelly won the state title all of their football teams have been lets just say not very good. There you go policatly correct. With that being said Go Bears

Wait a minute just went back and read one of his post again he is degrading band kids by his remarks where is your public outcry I have a kid in the band and I guarantee they work just as hard as other sports. That being said no apology.

Every team has these kind of fans. He's probably referring to the union fans who stand at the fence on the visitors side, there's about 10 of them who are drunk and cursing all game. I heard them last year vs Richland's and it was very bad but you can't call out the whole Union fan base. I remember some years when Kelly played Appy and you guys have a few like we do so get over it.

And yet another one did i say come up there and we would throw down. Maybe he needs to come there and hear the entire union crowd I was just informing him where to find me but that's ok people. And as for saying his team sucked he fired the first shot i just returned fire sort a say. Now as for the wal Mart vs union game I rank it up there behind richlands gate city the real Norton jib then wal Mart warriors.

I for one didn't brag about beating them and they are down to 3 two way starters cry me a river guy are u from haysi like appalachia. where out of 22 starters 19 went both ways they where both smaller schools. Just saying

Im a union an I will admit that there's a few in every fan base that goes too far. But I have never heard of anyone complaining about Union fans we may be loud and sometimes obnoxious but we love our team. An respect the other team no matter who were playing.

Never played in the band (and there's nothing wrong with being in the band, shows you lack any class insulting band members, those kids work very hard) and I was up in the stands not yelling at any Wise kid. Maybe laughing a bit at their overall ineptness, but not singling out any one WC player.
 
And I have four family members playing and played in high school, so your whole argument is a fail.
