That was a big crowd but I'm with bigwinners the 97 PV Appy game had to be bigger it was 10 deep at the fence definitely biggest crowd I've seen. I'm a little too young but someone from Gate City or Appy would know for sure that in the 60's there was a crowd around 10000 for the game when Edd Clark was playing and if I'm not mistaken it ended in a tie
I agree with u on that chilhowie should get to choose. I can't recall any other season that has been affected by so much rain as this year has. I think since the week Union lost to Abingdon it has rained either Friday or Saturday every week except last week.
I'm as guilty as the next guy about complaining about the play calling but if u really think about it we just didn't have the athletes this season to pass a whole lot. When we had Mitchell Gavin and Noakes we passed quiet a bit so looking ahead with the Jones kid at QB and some talent at receiving i expect the playbook to open up a little next season
Someone mentioned it was gonna be in Bluefield a couple weeks back but seems to early to know for sure and if we're playing Elizabethan or science hill u would assume the first year would be away so we may only have 4 home games if that's the case.
I hope the Union and Graham game is late in the season to give the young kids from Union time to grow but since it's a replacement game for Burton I'm sure it'll be first but at least we'll get to see real quick how were gonna look.
Defense should be good next year with some returnees but I think next year unfortunately will be a down year not because of talent but because we'll be very young. Look to see a lot of sophomores in the staring lineup.
It definitely had them fired up because that's I'll i heard pregame but I hadn't seen video yet. And your right didn't matter at all when u fumble all over the field and can't pass, wouldn't be able to beat Burton playing like that.
Are we just talking about anything now just to get the page count up, thank God it's almost game time before we start comparing who has the best fast-food fries.
Really all they need to do to fix the problem with bad teams is to go back to 4 teams per region but that's easy for me to say because Union is usually in top 4 so it doesn't matter of they could go to 6 teams and give the top two seeds a bye.
He'll be fine, reminds me a little of Grayson Allen from Duke it took him a little while his freshman year and then it just clicked (minus the tripping incidents).
