Bluefield has 11 state titles in playoff games that started in 1947 in WV. Ceredo-Kenova which is now part of Spring Valley and they also have 11 titles during the playoff era.

Robert E. Lee is in Staunton. Wilson Memorial is in Fishersville about 5 miles east of Staunton on the other side of I-81. Riverheads is about 10 miles south of Staunton. You can see the school from I-81. It is not in Staunton, it is at Greenville although it is a Staunton post office address.

Does one ticket get you in to see both games at " the town we aren't allowed to mention"?

A tremendous up hill battle for Chilhowie. I wish them well and should they pull off the upset it will be one of the greatest ever. I think I will go to the game just to root for them.

With only the Chilhowie game to go I went ahead and updated this thread.

Bluefield will be loaded next year. Two excellent Juniors will replace Truck and Mookie. Only 5 seniors this year. Four of five linemen are back. Arnold Martin and Juice Edwards aren't Mookie and Truck but they are better than everyone else's backs. The interesting year will be in two years when this Junior class is gone.

I find it very interesting that the greatest offensive player in BHS history made defensive plays at the goal line to preserve victories in the two games that were on the line late in the fourth quarter this season.

Been that way for over 40 years. Even when the games were in Charleston. But they classes were not always in that order. Bluefield played on Friday night in Charleston in 1984.

Wheeling also gets the local businesses to give complementary meals and reduced accommodations. Charleston could care less to do the things to attract the games. They were in Charleston until 1994.
