No, Ridgeview did not have any defensive scores last night. 4 TD's from Adkins (3 rushing, 1 receiving), 2 rushing TD's from Sproles and 1 FG.
-
Well, since we don't play next week, I am already looking forward to Battle's next game... US! Take care of business Trojans, and we'll see you on Battle Hill in a little less than 2 weeks.

I love it. Congrats Tazewell fans you deserve it. Nothing against Hurley... But Tazewell are the true under-dawgs of SWVA this season (pun intended). Keep fighting. ☺️
-
I may have found my game to go to next week with us being on bye. ☺️
-
The thing is... If GC would've kept up the passing game tonight, it could've turned into an offensive shootout of epic proportions. Cause we couldn't defend on the rare occasion GC threw the ball. I have seen the posts all season about the downfall of Gate City football but just didn't believe it until tonight when I saw it for myself. I feel for you guys. I hope you all can clip Central, but I'm not sure that is even a possibility at this point.
-
So, it's 3 hours till kickoff... and I don't know why, but all of a sudden, I have a bad feeling about this game. Not sure why. Hope I am wrong, but just feel like Gate City is going to come to play tonight. It's almost like last year when I had the total opposite feeling going into the Grundy game... everyone thought we were going to get rolled, but I had a feeling we were going to win and we did. Either way, looking forward to the game and hoping to see some of you folks there.

Sugar Hollow is a BEAST of a course. It's a full 18 holes, all with very long yardage. I would not let that be your first experience. For a first timer, I would try the one at Virginia Highlands Community College in Abingdon, or the one at Steele Creek in Bristol, Tennessee. Both are 9 holes each and are good for the beginner. Both do have some elevation changes. Steele Creek is mid to long yardage holes. One of the holes has a tree in the middle of the terrain (#6) which will gobble your discs in a heartbeat. I have lost 3 discs in that damn tree now. The holes at VHCC are all fairly short yardage (300 yards or less, including 1 very short 120 yarder, which you can ace very easily with an accurate throw).
Here is one of my YouTube subscription channels, where he and his family play the course pro at Sugar Hollow, so you can have an idea of what the course looks like:

Already explained once. Not going to again.

I think in 1A Region D, I would go with a Grundy vs. Chilhowie final.
1A region C is a lock with GW and Galax I believe. Not sure Narrows can beat either of them.
In 2A Region C, I think Glenvar will get home field if they beat Giles. Appomattox with a loss and only being scored for 9 games instead of 10 will hurt them in the end in points I think to where they can't catch Glenvar unless they lose.... so the 2A regions are still too early to forecast I think.
-
You're right. I can't fault that. Everyone has their method of voting and opinion. So, I apologize for poking fun at you.
I just choose to take the "realistic" approach. And a 1-3 SEC or ACC team isn't going to be in the top 25 in the AP poll, even if that 1-3 team is in all likelihood better than South Florida for example. Is Richlands better than some of the teams I have listed? Sure. Not going to deny it.
I have been to 4 Richlands games over the last 2 years and have sit on their side each time. I like and respect Richlands. I work with a former Richlands kicker. I am taking the time to explain this to try and avoid the firestorm. However, if folks still want to bash me, then go right ahead.

Bluefield
Union
Graham
Giles
Pulaski County
Abingdon
Galax
Ridgeview
Virginia High
Marion

Funny. At least the last two are anyway.
-
I've just seen it two years ago with Clarke County, and last year with Dan River and Appo. If you're blessed enough to get to game 14, as I think you will be, enjoy the ride and go kick some Raider backside.
-
-
I would take both Galax and George Wythe over Christiansburg. We'll actually get to see how Galax does against a similar level of opponent this week, because they play at 3A Northside this week. I think Richlands could beat Hidden Valley. You left them out. And Richlands is better than Virginia High.
-
I prefer the system of the previous years better, but most everyone who knows me already knows that. I'd rather not play Lee, Union or Battle again in the playoffs. Well, maybe Union because that first game was pretty fun a couple of weeks ago... but the Lee game was nerve wracking. I'm pretty sure the Battle game in a couple of weeks will be also.
Relax sunshine. I'm sure next year this will be reversed with D hosting C. This is the only thing that bugs me about Union fans is that y'all whine like crazy about having to travel, same as Norton fans. I would be honored to still be playing and to get to travel to see more of the state. And also look at it this way... if you're making that trip to Appo this year, it means you're in the final 4.
-
Why because you'll have to make a trip to Appo for the second straight year? Lol
-
Yeah... Georgetown is one of the premier NAIA teams that's for sure. Or used to be anyway. Don't follow the NAIA level anymore really since UVa-Wise jumped to D2, and the AAC basketball tournament is no longer in Bristol.
But, I am an old grumpy man. I don't give Dewey Lusk any credit for anything. Maybe Bluefield just has some talent this year on the field. Who knows?
-
Hey, you know I'll be there man. Look forward to seeing you again.
-
How many? 1?
I know they beat like Pippa Passes State or someone like that, but that don't count. Lol
-
1. Three words... Dewey Freaking Lusk (although to be fair, they sucked before this year also)
2. After the debacle against Ferrum, if I was the AD, he would've been fired in the locker room after that game.
