Now that I can post this without conflict. Which I'm sure this is no secret. Gate City will be loosing their superstar point guard. Via Oak Hill assistance which I shouldn't have named. Mac McClung will be offered scholarship to Oak Hill Academy where he will play his Senior year.

I can't help but wonder how different this team would be had it not lost Fuller and Lowe. That would allow Herndon to be the 3 point specialist off the bench, Smith as a big body off the bench, and the Horn brothers doing their thing. Could be a completely different team. 

This is truth. The 1985 loss was equivalent to Virginia High beating Richlands last week. This 1985 team was without a doubt the best team to ever walk through the halls of Richlands High School. They had everything: size, speed, athleticism, and scoring ability. They also had the best floor leader/point guard to every come through Richlands High School the Michaels guy. If im not mistaken it was Rick Michaels.  

As of 02/04/17 Richlands High School enrolled 2 transfers from Hurley High School. Unable to release names at this time. Personally saw them in the weight room and they are 2 bruisers. One will play Line backer and the other played defensive line.

Richlands looked like pure trash. They wont beat Union with that type of performance. It was almost as if they wasnt even trying.

Rumor I heard is he's going to Marshall with his girl friend. Going to try to walk on and play. 

I want footage of the posterizing alley oop scottie ball had. I would like to see it.

My prediction is Graham says we need to reschedule because its drizzling snow. I mean until were healthy.
 
Memories from last year.

Everyone has a bad game every now and then. For example, Abingdon's first football playoff game this year. ;)

Richlands can put up huge numbers at home.  I think the UVA tournament woke a sleeping giant and got them back in check after winning a Virginia high tournament rather easily. They went to Grundy last night and beat them 93 to 52.  Everyone talks about their "watered down schedule"  I think it was a good move,  If they can get their first regional game at home this year, it will be their first region win. This group is chomping at the bits to prove people wrong. Richlands controls the score here and the coach will control it by subbing.  

Like Ryan said, Its the all conference team. Which is the best players in this conference. Sorry they don't give out participation awards at grundy.

Ha, only thing they have picked up this year is bad habbits.

As promised, I am updating my rankings. Rather than having one Megathread I am just starting a new thread to contain just this weeks rankings. Might try and make this a weekly or bi weekly thing since it seems to be going well. Keeping it in the West Region too btw so tossing in those teams from central va. 
 
1A:
1-Radford- Lost to Mavahi but still a solid team. 
2-George Wythe-I have not seen them play yet but they return a lot from last year. 
3-Eastside-Knocked off Union in a great game. They really clicked well with solid post play/perimeter play. 
4-Chilhowie-Beat Honaker in va high tourny but Honaker big man got hurt. 
5-Honaker -Hopefully the big man is okay (went down with a knee injury). With him they are not a bad team. I could see them knocking off both Chilhowie and Eastside with a healthy team. 
 
2A:
1-Gate City-They are the real deal this year. Hammered every team they have played thus far. 
2-Martinsville They lost a large portion of their team last year. Sure they are the defending state champions but they does not win them a ticket as the #1 seed because of what they did last year. They are 4-1 according to maxpreps and only losing to halifax which is a 5a school. 
3-Richlands-Big wins in a weak tourny this week. Struggled with Honaker but still managed to pull a win out. Literally hammered Happy Valley for the championship too. 
4-Chatham-Knocked off Dan River which is impressive. They lost to Randolph henry though which is concerning but a team ahve to come out of conference 38...
5-Union- I still feel Union in a top 5 team even with the loss to Eastside. The win against East is impressive. Still the loss to Tennessee High cannot bode well with the thought GC handled TN High easily.

Good luck Richlands. Hoping you folks can pull a miracle off. All I can offer is 1 Corinthians 9:24 - "Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize." The prize listed there is obviously Heaven, but it works in an athletic context also. Richlands, play in such a way as to win this game. Shorten the game. Make nothing easy. Secure the football. Take the game one play at a time.
