  1. Tazewell VS Princeton or Ruchlands VS Bluefield???? Which one do y'all think?
  2. I believe putting Richlands at #2 is a stretch. If they beat Bluefield, I'd move them to number 1, otherwise, Bears should be above them.
  3. Union folks should be pleased Coach Crigger has them ranked now albeit 5th , congratulations, Bears!
  4. With all do respect but Union beat Richlands outright just like they did Graham, train horn or no train horn. I don't agree with blowing it during live play but can't make excuses when a team beats themselves while the other team played smarter & more disciplined.
  5. Not to cause more dissention but air horns and train horns can cause permanent hearing loss or temporary deafness. In fact train engineers are required to have their hearing tested periodically. I would never sit near anyone with either an air horn or train horn nor let my children at a football game or any sporting event for that very reason. A child with sensory issues or autism might have a very difficult time at a Union home game without protective ear gear. Hearing loss can occur at 85 decibels from prolonged or repeated exposure. Train horns are 140 decibels. Not bashing train horn just giving some factual information since hearing damage was mentioned.
  6. Prayers for your son! Wishing him a speedy & full recovery. I hate to see any player hurt.
  7. Who would have thunk it? 😂 A discussion about train horns turns to illegal cleats and ineligible players? 😂 Gotta love football 🏈
  8. Folks thought the train horn thread got out of hand 😂😂 actually I still think train horn Trump's this one.
  9. Defense was missing Isaiah Justice which probably had some affect against a team like Union. Plus Kastner being out week before against Giles & not practicing. You need all your D starters when playing against solid teams. Offense needs work as far as more disciplined play. Probably 8 TDs called back this year and countless penalties. I think both sides of ball are good and can make another run in playoffs but it's imperative to clean things up & stay healthy (Graham doesn't have depth of other teams).
  10. Offense definitely needs some adjustments and soon as stated above, regular season is almost half over. We’ve got some great athletes and speed! We need to utilize them and they need to get things down way before November rolls around. We need to be more disciplined play especially on offense. We should have won the two games we’ve lost. Hopefully, we can win from here on out! Go GMen!
  11. That seems a reasonable approach.
  12. You never know...Mitchell Stadium was site of an upset last week when people thought it would be a win for GMen. Maybe you'd bring good vibes to push Richlands to a surprise upset.
  13. We could just take the top two from each district and by done with it. Of course, that leads to teams playing weak schedules I suppose. It just seems too many teams get into regions that shouldn't.
  14. I'm perfectly fine blowing horns or artificial noise makers of any type except during huddles & during play. It's obviously being done to distract your opponent who are high school kids not college or NFL pros. Continuous blowing through offensive plays especially seems a bit over the top to me, others may disagree. We can agree to disagree on that point. After the play, TDs, great stops on defense , timeouts etc. blow your horns to your heart's content. I have no issue with that at all, it adds the excitement & atmosphere. (Per the question about Graham's AD, no clue).
  15. I didn't think Bluefield played on Friday. Hitting in knees by definition is not targeting. I would think the rule was not applied correctly if targeting was the call.
  16. That's funny....not the 15 yards but the comment. Piggybacking off that...people take things way too serious and get way too offended these days with things that should just be ignored or let roll off one's back.
  17. I was interested in our area. The teams represented on SWVA Sports. I guess could easily compare WV/VA though. You know-how we vote on Top 10 in weekly poll. I was curious who top 10 coverage area (state champions were) if that makes sense.
  18. @Bluefield researcher I'll check out your site, the answer may be there. Have you compiled a list of state championships from which school has most to least? I'm presuming Bluefield would be close to the top if not the top.
  19. Not sure who will end up 7 & 8 but I'd say 1-6 stay just maybe not in that order. I preface that with I could be wrong. Anybody that was doubting Richlands would even make playoffs are way off base.
  20. I'd be cleaning a lot of that up in practice. You are correct, enough is enough! GMen are better than what they've shown especially last night! 8 TDs called back in 4 games I think. They have skilled players , speed, & athleticism but they are lacking in discipline and focus! They should have never been in the position to have to play catch up, period! All credit to Union! They did what they needed to do.
  21. On paper Gretna should have won. Props to Radford.
  22. 👆 They didn't bring their A game & penalties killed them! You cannot beat a team like Union playing sloppy undisciplined football. Union played well , Graham did not.
