  1. Would not have made a difference Appo had to much talent and way to much speed for anyone in D2 last year and probably would have beaten Blacksburg. You have to recognize how good a team that was last year. The year before Richlands had enough talent to hang with them, and should have won the game, but not last year.
  2. No doubt Grayson has a good team, but Galax is just to strong. Don't think it will be a blow out but Galax wins. Richlands is at home and the Ernie will be rockin', but points have to be scored and the game has to be played. I remember the ghost fumble a couple of years back when Brown from Richlands took the ball out of the VH RB's hands and returned it for a score to send it to overtime when it seemed that VH had a solid win. Can not discount the wild factor when these two play, but should be a heck of a game with Richlands coming out on top of a close one 17 to 14.
  3. Maybe my glasses are to dark a shade of Blue, and would have to agree that Union has a good defense, so we will have to wait until Friday to see how VH offense matches up to RHS defense. The other side of the ball is what concerns me as a RHS fan. How does RHS offense match up with VHS defense. This will be one of those must see games and I am looking forward to it.
  4. I'll take nothing away from Graham, their defense is good, and you remember what they did to VH. Yeah I know VH had a bad night, and I know I'm biased, but I still say VH hasn't faced a defense like Richlands. Still think it will be a good game and as I said previously RHS--17 VHS--14
  5. Respect the VH players, but don't think they have seen a defense like Richlands. From a man's viewpoint Richlands wins
  6. Last four years these two have had some awesome games, and this would no doubt be another one, so if it happens, we'll all say "Let's roll".
  7. Let me be more specific: If Richlands makes the playoffs who wants to play them in the first round? Any takers?
  8. If Richlands gets into the playoff, "Who wants to play them"?
  9. VH is much improved over past years and have always played a good game against Richlands. I look for this to be a good dog fight with Richlands coming out on top in a close one. I know the fans will be up for this one, can't wait for Friday to get here. Richlands--17 Virginia High--14
  10. This will be a game of games, a dog fight all the way. I hope RHS wins, but don't think the score will be high. Both teams have good defense and RHS has problems scoring, so I'm thinking it will be one of those games that we will all be talking about for a while. RHS--17 VHS--14
  11. Agree with both these post, and #6 is a good athlete who can run down hill, and in space. So WR or RB either one would be a good fit for him. #6 is more accurate on passing so it would be interesting. I would hope that the coaches don't forget the run package with a full back, it seems to work pretty well inside the red zone.
  12. Richlands' win-loss record will fool you if that's all you look at. Played tough against some good teams, and in Regional games was only one or two plays away from a "W". If the playoffs include RHS and all their players are back from injuries, they will be one tough out for any one who plays them. Don't know that they will even win a playoff game, but with Mance and the playoff experience they have, whoever they play will have to be solid or go home defeated. I just hope for the sake of the players they make the playoffs. They have really endured a tough road so far.
  13. Going to be a barn burner I'll go Marion 24 VHS 21
  14. Love the visitor seating in Abingdon, but love the game atmosphere in Bullit Park. Both groups of fans treat you with respect, and I know there is always that few, but 90% of the fans from both teams have always been respectful. I see this being close, but Union's line may be to much for Abingdon. Union 24 Abingdon 21
  15. Hopefully Richlands can engineer or generate a way to score. Defense (no problem) Offense (shooting themselves in the foot in the red zone) Hopefully the injuries will be healed up by next week against VH. Richlands should win this week, and at the same time you have to appreciate the players at Lebanon for playing every down and giving it their best when the chips are down. Hats off to all the Lebanon players and their coaches, appreciate the effort, from this RHS fan.
  16. Okay I've been quite long enough on this subject. If your team is winning its easy to set and bask in the glory, but when a team is having a down year, or even a few, its easy to point fingers, and throw slurs around like you know what the heck you are talking about. Loosing is tough, no matter who you are, but its even tougher when those you rely on for support let you down. I've seen it from someone from GC and I've seen it from someone from Richlands this year, and I say shame on you. If you can not support your team in the lean years, (when you are needed the most) then don't bother to call yourself a fan, and by all means don't call other people out and say they are jealous of a teams success. Real fans do not get jealous of other teams, and they will stand by their team and coaches until the bitter end. Most folks I know in GC and Richlands are doing just that, its only a few that isn't showing support, but criticizing players and coaches alike. I say to those: "If you can not support your team when they need you the most, don't be so blind as to call yourself a fan."
  17. I'm glad to see Marion doing so good. Have a lot of friends over that way and couldn't be happier for them, they've worked for it and they deserve to be proud of it.
  18. Also heard from good source that Mance is not retiring this year, be back with the Blues next year. Richlands has a good shot at being the spoiler if they make the playoffs. They may have Justus back at linebacker, and have their lineman healed up and playing. All the loses to Regional teams were close and it is hard to beat a tough team twice in the same season. If the offense can score points, they could beat anyone of the top tier teams, and I don't think Union, Graham, or Marion is hoping to play them again. Union has had some injuries with key players who played against Richlands; Marion barely escaped with a win at home, and they took Graham to overtime. Not saying Richlands would win, but they will be a tough out for any of the top tier teams. If they make the playoffs it is going to be interesting.
  19. Was at the Graham vs Richlands game and did not think Graham came out flat, just wasn't expecting the strength of Richlands "D". Graham has good talent that is hard to handle in space and should win this game. I don't look for a blow out, but Graham wins by 2 TD's.
  20. If Richlands gets in the playoffs it will be interesting. They have been so close to all the teams they have lost to in the region, and they could be a tough out for the top tier teams. Things change during the season and Union has had to change some things due to injuries which would make an interesting game between them and Richlands. Richlands took Marion to the limit, and Graham to overtime, so I must imagine that either of those teams hope not to have to play Richlands again. Could be interesting. Throw out the records, if you get in the playoffs by the slightest margin, its a new season.
  21. Will be lifting this young man up in prayers. God is a good God.
  22. Seems to me that we all have been a little spoiled with the success that the Blues have experienced over the past decade. Don't like to hear all the negativity coming from the fans when the team needs fan support more than ever. I know everyone has an opinion and freedom to express it, but we all need to realize that these players are just kids trying to do the best they can. In expressing my opinion, I wonder why we didn't use the run package that's been developed over the last few games with a full back and two tight ends, especially in the overtime. As I said before, its just an opinion, but at no time should we as fans be showing our lack of knowledge of the game by screaming at the coach or picking on our players (kids) the way I heard some of the fans in the crowd doing repeatedly. As fans we all need to get behind the team and let the players know that we will always support them no matter what the outcome of the game. Go Blues!!!
  23. Haven't posted in a few years. Hope everyone is doing good. Anyone looking at the stats would say Graham by a mile, but we all must remember this has turned into a rival game in recent years, and being a home game for Richlands may mean a lot in this one. The Blues are hungry for a win, and the fans are more than ready to see the team put it all together. Like I said, Graham should win, but is Graham prepared for the Blues defense, and can the Blues score? The biggest two questions this week. Even with all the stats I won't go against the Blues in this one, look for the upset in a low scoring event RHS 17 GHS 16
