Thomas Walker - LOCK OF THE WEEK!!!
Good luck to all this week!!!

Did the changes in the secondary make Union better on defense or was they better before?
I didn’t get to go to Morristown West but seemed to be a great ballgame.
Lee High and Union always match up good, but I just don’t see Lee High being able to match up and stop the power running game, or the quickness of Union.

Why is the QB out for Central? I know he came out of the game against Graham, but didn’t know how serious it was!
-
Just curious what everyone’s marquee matchup is this week?
What will be the best game to attend to see some good hard nosed football?

You couldnt ask for a better young man that Gibson. Hard nosed leader on the field, and an even better member of the community off of it. Here is a FCA video he was a part of as a sophomore.

Rye Cove 13 Castlewood 8 at the half. Things getting a little chippy in Castlewood, Refs gonna have to get a hold on the game in the 2nd half or it could get dirty!!

My senior year in 02, we ran the T, Power I, split backs, far and near sets, spread........we had many different formations we could go to with many different options in the backfield and at wide receiver.
Having many different formations is a plus, but like the above comment said, the smash mouth football seems to take teams deeper in the playoffs. It’s definitely two different styles of football.
-
I don’t like the new playoff system, but it allows us to see some matchups that you would not normally see under the old format. VH$L is all about the money, and to me it’s ridiculous how much money they make off of football season each year!!!
Richlands plays a very tough schedule, and like mentioned above come playoff time, year in and year out they are one of the top notch teams in 2A. You never can count out a Mance coaches team.

Or just get the other receivers to run routes instead of jogging off the ball. On 4 plays at Ridgeview, one that went to garrison and one to Rasnick on the far side of the field, only those 2 players ran routes, the other receivers jogged off the ball and bumped somebody and then quit.
I like the T formation, but you have to be more creative with it when you have 9 stacked in the box and the other team daring you to throw it. Giza and Falin both are big and tall, learn to run some plays to the tight ends, or some passes out in the flats.
Definitely need to work on the spread this week and fine tune it, because if Union ever gets done and needs to score quick, they are in trouble and that showed at Ridgeview,
I personally think it should be a game to work on a lot of fine tuning as we head for the down slope of the season......good luck to both teams and hope both come away with a clean game and no injuries.

Congrats to the Pack!!!! Very impressive team. Like the above comment, the defense was so fast to the ball and took away the running game to the outside. Line play was huge in this game and Ridgeview won it on both sides of the ball. Ridgeview has a very balanced attack. Was impressed with Adkins, he’s going to be something special. QB and other RB was very impressive as well.
I agree the passing game needs to be used more, but you have to have receivers that are going to buy into it and run good crisp routes every time the ball is snapped, instead of jogging off the ball for 5 yards because they know it’s not coming their way. That definitely doesn’t help any in the passing game. Makes it very hard on a QB when all you have is one place to throw the ball, because no other receiver is running a hard route.
Great atmosphere and beautiful campus and place to watch a football game.
Hats off to Ridgeview and Good Luck the rest of the way!!!

I’m blue all the way through....from basketball, to football, to anything UK, I’m right there behind them!!!
Im excited to watch this game, two very tough teams on a beautiful night!!!! Nothing like it!!

If I’m not mistaken 92.5 WLSD will probably be covering this game.
I know they covered the Richlands game.

Is kickoff at 7pm and do the gates open at 5pm?
I hope the weather holds out, so its a good clean football game. Don't want the losing team to blame weather as a factor.
Excited to see all the talent in this game and my first game at Ridgeview campus. I hear its beautiful.

Gonna be a great game, that will be decided in the trenches I believe. O-line and D-line play will be crucial. Can’t wait to watch this game.

Ran across this article on WCYB, and just thought it was to good not to share. Not a UT fan, but definitely have respect for this young man on the Volunteer football team.

How do you see UK football finishing their season? Is it possible to be 11-1, 10-2, or 9-3? What do you think of Benny Snell, is he a legitimate Heisman candidate? Sorry for all the UK questions but we rarely ever get to talk football and be excited about it.
