  1. What happens if Gate City and Central Boys both win their quarterfinal game, and Union and Gate Girls win their quarterfinal game?

Do they play each other again, or do they cross the brackets after the quarterfinal games?

If they do play each other again, will it be the higher seeds choice of where the game will be played?

All that talent everyone said Wise has? The top scorer other than McAmis was Allison with 6 pts off two 3 pointers, and Hayes with 5pts.  The game was basically Dean vs McAmis with Dean winning by one. smh

I guess basketball to you is just the players that score. You sir are obviously lost! What about the kids that fight for rebounds, play defense, get assist, come up with steals.....oh I forgot they must suck because they didn't score.......go on somewhere with your BS!!!!  Central had some good play from many different players, Collie, Bishop, Brickey, and Bailey all made some plays during this game!!

If you didn't notice, Vermillion was substituting for Offense and Defense possessions last night when their 2nd best scorer was in foul trouble! Mack,Starnes, and the George kids all played good minutes for Gate City in different situations. If some of those turnovers were not forced by these non talented kids, this ballgame could of been a blow out!!

So before you get on here blasting kids, and teams saying they have no talent, realize basketball is so much more than scoring!!!

Central was 7-15 from the free throw line and GC was 18-20 from the free throw line.......so all in all that was the determining factor in the game.

Richlands lead half way through the middle of 3rd quarter Central never lead until then Richlands played 6 player's until the last 2 minutes Central played 11 player's  Richlands run out of steam Richlands starter out played Central starters

What good does outplaying someone's starters and getting beat? At the end of the day Central moves on and Richlands goes on to start baseball season! Last I checked only thing that matters is the final score when the final buzzer sounds off!

I hate to break this to you, but he doesn't have that much talent around him.  Top to bottom, GC, Abingdon, Union, and Lee are all better than Wise.

Their is talent around him, but hard to see it when they never get the opportunity to show it!!! Most are scared to shoot it, or make any mistake because they will get pulled to the bench!!!

Looks like daddies boy is back to posting again

If I was putting together a m7 team to actually play other teams.  Mccamis would not be on that team.

Would you not pick McAmis because his attitude gets in the way some, or do you seriously think the M7 has that many more players that are better than him?

To say the kid is not a good basketball player simply blows me away.

    I. McAmis isn't All-M7? LOL get real. Say what you want about TJ, but the younger is a good basketball player.

To say McAmis is not All-District is far fetched to me. He is a pretty good basketball player! I have to agree that Hayes is the better all around player on the team, due to his ability to drive and create a lot on his own, his defense, and his rebounding ability is something in my opinion that makes him better all around.  Shooting is one of McAmis' strong points, and if he gets hot, watch out he can bury a team very quick.  If it is an off night for him, he still puts up decent numbers, but forces some shots.

I believe a lot of people base their opinion of Isaiah, based on their take of TJ and dislike for the Warriors.  Yes, Isaiah does get frustrated and sometimes it comes out and gets him in trouble, but what teenager doesn't get frustrated and do something out of character at some point.

If you leave out peoples dislike for the Warriors and TJ, and look strictly out how the kid plays basketball, everyone knows he is a good basketball player and loves to compete.

  7. I doubt Stevie Niece would take the job, I think I he will be gone when McAmis is gone! I had heard last year that Stevie was not even coaching this year, but the Seniors of the team talked him to finish out with them! I could be wrong, but like stated above, I would hate to be taking over that program right now!

  8. I heard on the radio broadcast, that since he was in an administration roll, he would be stepping down!! I figured after Isiaha graduated he would hang it up!! He still has two daughters, one on varsity now, and one on the 8th grade or JV team. Kind of surprised me he didnt want to try and coach his daughters, but I believe Robin Dotson has that position locked down for as long as he wants it!!!

  9. I agree Hokie101, Dean has improved his game as far as driving to the basket and finishing.  He also made a lot of good passes that lead to easy points for GC.  Dean is definitely a game changer.

Not sure that Central would of won if they would of stayed in the 2-3 zone but I definitely think the game would of been much closer, and I think everybody else agrees with me as well.

  10. Central has been playing better ball the last part of the season. I agree that their is no pressure on them going into Friday's game, they do not have a winning streak on the line, and beating Gate City one time does not really help them out that much for seeding in the tournament.  Gate City is always a tough game, and Vermillion always has his bunch ready to play. Gate City fans travel well, and are always loud.  I don't expect anything any different this Friday.  It will be a packed gym with this being Central's senior night. Can the Warriors get over the hump with this being possibly the last home game for 7 seniors?

Central played lights out in the 1st half against Gate City, and limited Dean in the 1st half and was in control.  The 2nd half was a different story, like a light switch was flipped and no one could stop Dean from draining 3's from half court.  Dean is game changer, as he can score from anywhere on the court, and his ability to pass makes him that much stronger of a player.

If you plan to get a seat,  you better get there early.

Bottom line and the folks from Wise get their panties in a wad when I talk about mediocre coaching on the boys side although the record speaks for itself. The cold, hard truth is you give Scotty 5 seniors to put on the floor and GC beats everybody in the distric by 20+ and plays for the state title. I knew Central was in trouble when they barely scraped by the youngest Union squad I've seen. There's only one excuse for this Warrior team to not sail through the distric. we know what it is:)

  12. HAHA, play the game and take what you get. Have to quit worrying about things that you can't change, and play the game.  Also helps when you get more people involved than just 2 players.  You have 5 to 6 guys doing all the dirty work on the boards, playing defense, and putting their body on the line as far as taking charges and everything else that don't show up in the stat line, and two players getting praised for everything.  I'll say it until I am blue in the face, McAmis and Hayes are both great ball players, but until you get more involved on offense when those two are not hitting or having a tough time getting open shots, things will continue to be the same.

GC will win the M7 again this year.

  13. I am really interested to see how this team responds Friday night at Union. For the teams sake I hope they come out and have a better focus, intensity, heart, and will to win that they lacked against Ridgeview.

I am not downing anybody in this post at all, Isaiah is an excellent ball player, and has a ton of upside to him, but he is not the player he is without his teammates, and I will say that and stand behind it through and through!!

  14. Alot of stuff done during a game dont show up in the stat sheet. I didnt go to the game lastnight, but I did listen in here and there.

I heard the announcers talking about Brickey leading the team in taking charges!!! That dont show up in a stat line, but is big and helpful to the team! Just like disruptive defense, deflecting passes, altering shots........
