Save travels going home tonight for those attending games. It looks like the heavy rain will start around 9pm, so a 7pm kickoff gets the game in, or at least gets the majority of most games in which will end around 9ish, but folks, it's going to be dangerous traveling home for fans and teams. For example, folks from Central-Wise will be leaving West VA in the dark and driving 2 hours going home. Giles will be traveling home from Independence (Grayson) to Pearisburg (and hour and 1/2ish) at least with the storm's direction, but I don't know that the direction of the storm matters much, as winds in a storm seem to come from different angles. Safe travels going home folks, and consider a hotel and minimizing risk if possible.
By accuweather Bluefield’s forecast is not showing any significant chance of rain till 1 am.
Ahmad was also opoy and dpoy his junior year of high school. And a 3 time 1st team all state. Very few people who actually saw dudley are still alive. But he was an all American at uva and the #1 pick in the nfl draft I believe.
He was also a 4 time all pro in the NFL. In college he was Maxwell award winner and lead the nation in scoring and interceptions.
Cam wouldn't have won a state championship and neither would Graham. That was a great fit for Graham.
They definitely wouldn’t have been as good but would have won region D and possibly state. Radford took out Appo that year and nobody came within 20 points of Graham for the entire postseason. Graham’s backup QB was the 2nd best Qb in the region.
Hey, don’t be mad at me. You’re the one that posted that little self-owning statistic. I just shed a little more light on it. Just admit you made a dumb mistake and move along instead of digging your hole even deeper. I’m done with you.
Sorry, that wasn’t anger but sarcasm. You might want to read this.
Never mind that Tazewell was the lower-seeded team in all 3 games and had to face 1 Region D champion, 1 Region D runner up, and that same Region D team off 2 consecutive runner-up finishes in those 3 games. Nah, doesn't matter at all, does it? A reasonably intelligent person might expect a lower-seeded team to act as most lower-seeded teams do, and lose.
Just admit that you're still ticked about my position on Graham's video and move on.
You can keep waiting, honey. What part of "Ridgeview should rightly be favored" is vague or ambiguous to you?
Lol a reasonably intelligent person could see that they are a low seed facing the Region D runner up once again.
If I were guessing I’d say Graham/Central Friday night due to the fact Mitchell is shared with Bluefield State & Bluefield University. They play on Saturdays. As soon as it’s official though, I’ll share if no one else has.
They may be able to play early Saturday. I think State played their last game this weekend and Bluefield College doesn’t play till 6 pm Saturday.
If you are Graham or Ridgeview, you want to miss Union in round 2. Either Graham or Ridgeview will be playing Union in round 2 of the playoffs (if Union wins game 1). It looks like Union is headed for a 4 or 5 seed. If that's the case, if you are Graham, you want Ridgeview to outpoint you and finish 1st. If you are a Ridgeview fan, you want the opposite.
I don’t think Graham wants Ridgeview to out point them just to avoid Union. The preference would be to have the region D title decided at Mitchell. I think Graham will be back to full strength this week. No disrespect to Union but the biggest advantage is home field.
There are SO many possible ways the final seedings can go it's mind boggling. There is lots of parity between teams this year, that while not likely, it wouldn't be a huge shocker if many remaining games go either way. And yes, it is still possible for Richlands to make the playoffs.
How I think the final seeding will go. Va High gets the tie over GC. This is also the base that all other scenarios would be created.

Any combination of Lee, Central and GC beating each other will not surprise me in the least. Also, wouldn't be entirely shocked if GC beats Ridgeview or Grundy beats Central. Surprised, but not shocked. The highest I could get Tazewell up the poll was #6. They'd need to beat Bluefield, which isn't out of the question, and have a little more help.
For Ridgeview to get the #1 seed, Graham would need to lose to Pulaski Co next week, but I figured that was obvious.
Depending on the exact positioning, we might get some matchups for the first round of the playoffs that will NOT be rematches and could be fun. GC/Va High, Va High/Union, Ridgevew/Tazewell, Graham/Central, Va High/Lee, GC/Tazewell
What happens if Tazewell finishes 7-3? They should be favored in the remainder of their games.
I doubt Galax runs the ball “at will” , I guess it depends on the accepted definition of “at will” though. 😂. If 8 points means “at will” then , I can accept that position. I still think barring a ton of penalties, Graham wins comfortably. I suspect the coaches will address penalties hard in practice & especially personal fouls will be cleaned up this week.
I mean he is not wrong. They did run the ball “at will”. They also got stopped 4 times inside the 20 against their will. Lol.
Thats a good 1 but I'm pretty sure if they are sending 1 in. Its probably 1 of 2 where 3 Graham players had Honeycutt down 1 twisting his ankle the other 2 punching him. Or the 1 were Graham players were punching 1 of the Anderson Brothers both happened right in front of the white hat who just watched. But hey that's old school football in my opinion.
Just an absolute clown take. Union, with the fumble going to take the lead, missing a wide open TD, having no kicker, etc... And you think Graham is 80% better. That's downright hilarious. I take it you weren't there watching.
take away the long TD by Clemens, Graham struggled mightily to move the ball.
If you take away the one long run by Honeycutt, Union doesn’t score.
