You have lost your mind if you think he is better than the Horne kid. Not taking anything away from him but Horne is on a different level.  100% the best rb in the region.  He would start on any team.

For 1D, Rye Cove, Pat Henry, Holston and Burton appear to be safe to get the wins in week 11. Honaker and Hurley are open, so no losses there. Grundy/Central will determine the #1 seed, either them or RC. Lebanon/RR will determine the final seed as Grundy, RC, PH, Holston, Honaker, TS and Hurley all appear to be safe.

There is a possibility that Honaker and TS could tie for the 6th spot if Richalnds defeats Va High. I am unsure who would win that tie breaker.

They deserve just as much as a team with a winning record/better seed making bank on points due to playing decent smaller schools with winning records.  Kids are guaranteed one more week to play a game, that most will never play again so enjoy one more show and appreciate it.  Hell I wish they could do the plus-one again like the covid year so those non-qualifiers could play one last time.  Put yourself in their shoes.  JSB/Mar/TW/Eastside/etc. for example get a chance to call someone and more than likely to get an evenly matched game for a final would probably be the most excitement they've had all season after taking a bunch on the chin.  
Strictly on the competitive side of things, make it top 4 so it means a lot more to do well the entire season.

It's great to see two D1 schools from southwest Virginia (Twin springs @ Holston) getting a chance to play on TV.

Do not sleep on Rye Cove. 38 kids I hear as well as a good,new coaching staff which includes B.I. Salyers. Their middle school and JV bunch was very good last year.

IMO O'Quinn is the best QB in the area for sure Pendergraft can air it out as well and Church returns as a senior at Central.

So Rye Cove gonna jump from 0-17 last two years to 2nd in the Cumberland lol
Gonna be hard for a bunch of 15-16 year old holdbacks who have beat up on 12 and 13 year old kids for two years to come in and make that jump to competing with older kids, but time will tell I suppose. 
 
Plus, I am sure there are a bunch of coaches chomping at the bit to return the favor for some of the scores of those middle school games. 
Don’t get me wrong, from what I hear they have a better group of players coming than they have had the past few years, as well as a new coach. Just think the expectations are a little unrealistic for a group that obviously has an uphill climb.
 

Caues the main people on here only care about union and gmen going to get smacked by Appomattox lol.  I'm here to tell you Southwest Virginia has more than 2 teams and a lot of small schools have big time talent.  Do I think Holston will win it?!?! Probably not.  It's hard for a school with 250 kids to play a Riverheads team that picks from 460 kids.  They need to do a realignment for 1A. Just because the smaller teams are not one of the big 2 doesn't mean these kids don't play their hearts out ever Friday night and deserve some recognition.  I think we should be showing all of the southwest Virginia kids some love.  Holston, Ph, Grundy, Twin Springs and all the other schools that bust their a$$ to make the community proud. It takes more than a handful of teams to make football great in Southwest Virginia.  So this is to all the little guys out there.  Keep working hard because a lot of us see you and are proud of you!!

I have a feeling you have no idea just how dangerous your last statement was, as it relates to a hammer in your future.  The PA announcer for Graham and Bluefield is one of the better ones in the entire area. You aren't getting close, will not find anyone even close to the knowledge level of the man behind that microphone at Graham and Bluefield with any other PA announcer in the area. I can assure you of that.

I believe Twin Springs can compete with anyone right now.  A great combination of speed and a line that can block. D1 will be interesting this year. They played Holston earlier in the year but from what I hear that game was after a covid layoff.

The box has been redone so it is one of the better ones that I have been in.  Other than the walk up the hill it's not bad.  Definitely been in a lot worse.
