Well, got my clubs today. This thread is the literal reason why I now own golf clubs and will now get angry at myself for losing money all to chase that one good shot. Thanks guys!

Strike one, strike two...

The middle school is the old high school post renovation.  Fries played football in the Fries Ballpark (baseball stadium) located just on the other side of Lee Drive from the middle school.  On Google Maps, it appears to be lined for sandlot play in the outfield of the baseball field.  It hasn't been kept up to the extent it was when the high school was still in existence but still in good shape.  Temporary bleachers would have to be brought in if they do use Fries for home games next fall.

It is a shame that Grayson has allowed the bleachers to get so bad.  Maybe this is what it took for them to actually invest something into to football program.  The lights also need to be replaced seeing how they are leaning to an ugly and dangerous level and also after they went out at halftime during a game and stayed off for about 3 hours. Having been in Grayson my whole life I don't want to hear about not having money for it. Other schools similar to Grayson have gotten grants and other funding for these types of projects. So far it just hasn't been a priority. Sounds like thanks to the new superintendent and some of the new school board members it now will be finally.  

I have not seen the MED team.  It's all a horse trade anyway.  You vote for my guy and I will vote for yours!

It's a maddening, addictive, love/hate relationship if you play golf on a regular basis!

ECU is going to take a step back most likely.  So dumb going from McNeil to Chizik. Bud knows how to stifle GTs offense for the most part.  Connor wont be back for Pitt now due to cancer and who knows what they will do offensively with Chaney going to UGA.  Their QB play cant be any worse than Peterman though. VT will be more talented than Duke, but Duke and Miami will have solid coaching at least.

EC, GT, Duke, Miami and Pitt are all easily within reach for VT. None will be overwhelming favorites. ND and UT will be TOUGH games

My company Christmas party is at Barter at 2PM tomorrow.  Been trying to get out of it all week without luck.  They have already purchased the tickets.  I even offered to reimburse for the tickets and donate to charity.  
 
This is the third year in a row the Christmas party is on state final Saturday.  Next year, I will politely decline a month in advance!

First ever shot in my first ever round of golf, a nasty fade out of the tee box into the woods. I walk the 250 yards or so and find my ball lying about 3 feet away from a twitching squirrel that was bleeding from the right side of its face.
 
That was God's sign of telling me to stick with bowling.

LOL... my first trip to Anderson AFB on Guam, we rented clubs and they had putters that had to be 10" long and weighed a ton. There was one par 3 that was about 85-90 yds we all teed up the putters and i hit the thing 100 yds. You bring back memories

I have hit some 100 yd shots on putt putt courses.  It really is a challenge to hit wedge like shots with a putter.

He was an All-American guard at UVA in 1993. Became the starter midway through his freshman year and never relinqueshed it. Played for the Philadelphia Eagles in 1994 briefly before getting sent to NFL Europe for 2 seasons. He played for the Montreal Allouettes from 1996-1997. He started for the Miami Dolphins from 1998-2003.
 
Not too often you get a resume with Jimmy Johnson, Dan Marino and George Welsh as you refernces. The Galax City School Board called all three. Why not, right?

I should also add, Galax is in a unique position that virtual the entire student body lives within walking distance of the school. That makes things like The Breakfast Club seamless and easily attained.

Never cared if anyone knows who I am.  My username is my childhood nickname given to me by Mr. Sapp Jones.  Mr. Jones graced every kid running around the Fries YMCA with a nickname of some sort, most sticking for life.  I am still not certain what precipitated mine but I have grown fond of it given it's source.
