"Whatever you do in life, surround yourself with smart people who'll argue with you." - John Wooden
Together we would make Tazewell great again!!!!!!!!

Wouldn't take it unless I get the Athletic Director's job as well. That way I could hire Old School Blue as offensive coordinator and place the Hurley boosters club in charge of scheduling.

The 14 losers can stay home and cry. I plan on making the Bulldogs bite again. -

parsons reacted to futbolking in Graham's Schedule
Graham played up to AA while having A numbers for 30 + years and somebody wants to complain about their strength of schedule for playing their district games in a district that they were forced to play in. Graham has about 550 students each year. We do realize that 2A is still single A by the old numbers.... t hey just split A, AA and AAA into 2 classifications each and now call it 1A & 2A for the old single A..... Graham is still near the bottom of enrollment in 2A. The 1A teams they played last year included Fort Chiswell, Galax and Narrows (All playoff teams and all better than a lot of 2A teams in this area). I don't understand the criticism.
On a side note, I'm glad to see Princeton and Marion back on the schedule. I always enjoy watching Graham play these those two.
Out of district schedule will include: Giles, Bluefield, Princeton, Central and Marion.... I like it. Will miss playing Galax however, they were always a very good ball club that was well coached. I liked watching them play.
Oh yeah, Graham won 2 state titles in AA while playing schools 2 to 3 times their size.

Oh, I believe everyone here knows your comments speak for themselves. No need to dig when you cry repeatedly. Carry on.

Hold on a second, when I said "hire of the century", I meant the 18th century....that's how far football at THS would be set back. (jk)

I think we all need to realize that even better teams sometimes lose to teams that are not as gifted.
It may not happen often, but it does happen. That's why they play the games.

This thread reminds me of all the comparisons made with the 2005 USC Trojans prior to their loss to Texas in the Rose Bowl.

Nothing new there. As usual, it was the highlight of their night. -

Good luck union! Would love for you guys to take down the '85 Chicago bears!
I mean Appomattox

parsons got a reaction from Irishman in Richlands vs Graham?
I was speaking only of their games with Richlands. My friends from Graham speak very highly of the Graham players, so I'm not going to attack their character. But they do show questionable judgement. As I mentioned earlier, I fail to see the benefit of firing up the opposition.

Good luck to Richlands rest of the way. They were certainly the better team tonight. Out-played. Out-coached. Superior line play. No excuses. RHS the better team. All this talk about Appomattox. They will have to get past Richlands.. Very tough task.. My money is on the Blue Tornado.

Normally I would dismiss those statements as typical pre-game "Mance" speak ...but since my sole purpose in life is to annoy Old School Blue, I'm going to say that Coach Mance is never wrong; therefore, this is the fastest Graham team ever. -

For Parsons: A quote from Greg Mance in today's BDT.
“Any time they touch the ball they are a threat to go to the house so offensively it is probably the most talent I have seen on a Graham team maybe ever and I have been here 20 years as a head coach. They have got so much speed. It reminds me of the old group of (Ahmad) Bradshaw, Paco (Jones), Reid Oakes, H.T. Mathews and that bunch, but I think this group is faster.â€
Just giving you a hard time, since you gave me such a hard time for saying the same thing.
Can't wait for this game to kick off tonight. Heard Graham may go deep into the play book tonight, hope it works out for them.
Good luck to both teams and hope for an injury free game and whoever the winner is, I hope they go on and represent SWVA well in the semis and finals.
