Only reason there was any bad blood between Giles and Powell Valley was because of the Powell Valley arrogant prick coach....up 29-6 with about 2 minutes left and the prick fakes a punt so his son can throw another TD to pad wonder boy's stats.....and trust me i told the prick after the game what a total prick he really is.
 
You guys beat us with Thomas(great players all over that PV team)
We beat you Julius soph year
You guys spanked us Julius senior year(we weren't good enough to be in state semis but region was VERY week that year)
 
Then the prick Robbins show occured....game was WELL over and we were overmatched but what he did was uncalled for but everyone knows what kind of person he is so i don't have to keep going

First off i am a Giles Spartan through and through and bleed red BUT there is no way on this planet we should be preseason #1....We lost 20 seniors but honestly only a handful will hurt to lose, yes we lost some great HS players but alot didn't play at all or much except in blowouts.....we do have talent coming up through the ranks and some of the JV players that will be playing as soph's this year on varsity are talented players but will need some game experience....they should be fine by playoff time(or at least we are hoping so).
 
Glenvar is #1 preseason no doubt about it....state champions and return about 19 starters....same situation Giles was in last year...winning the title then returning most of their players.
 
I honestly don't know if Giles is a top 10 team preseason but I would probably have them in there somewhere near 10 like futbolking said....but really these preseason polls are pointless anyway.
 
I'd have Glenvar #1 and Richlands #2 at this point but I don't get a vote.....Richlands I hear is going to be VERY good....Your coach(can't remember his name LOL) dad told me they are loaded....and as i've always said if Giles can't win it all then i'm a Blues supporter

Lighten up MountainMan every team gets some new players come in just about every year....and here is something for you to ponder....these kids that tranfer,"recruited" or whatever you want to call it DON'T go to schools with bad football teams if they are good football players....I know Giles has had some players transfer to Giles from other schools(And I know for a FACT they weren't recruited to Giles) and I was happy as a lark that they decided to play for my school...some even helped us win state championships...and championships make the fan base very happy

Sorry guys but a top 5 or top 10 that doesn't include Steve Ragsdale is a joke...i may be biased but his numbers stand for themself...well over 200 wins and 3 state championships....not knocking anyones list but come on guys this guy took over a program that before him was lucky to win 3 games a year and in his 3rd season brought home the 1980 AA state championship by going 14-0 and beating a team with future NFL player Allen Pinkett on it.

You are right this isn't the same Giles team i saw all year either but it happened and we lost and congrats to glenvar on a great played game...rooting for them unless they play richlands

Yes much props to glenvar for coming in and beating us like a drum today....nothing against Glenvar but i'm not rooting for Richlands to take home the title....and yes Glenvar's defense is definitely legit

Just want to wish you guys good luck Saturday....will be sitting in Pearisburg hoping for a win and keeping close tabs on my 2nd favorite team....would love to see us 2 teams in Salem in a couple weeks but some tough opponents for both of us this week and if we win next week as well.....of course if you guys make it to salem i will have to root against ya'll for the 1st time in over a year LOL
