  1. I hate to hear that happened at the JM game. When fans do that kind of crap they're just an embarassment to the school they are cheering for. And if they were parents, at that moment they are an embarassment to their children as well. I have no idea what led to an outburst like that, but there is absolutely no excuse for acting that way.
  2. Not a big Tech B'ball fan, but that was an impressive win tonight. Congrats to the Hokies.
  3. The varsity game was a great game to watch. Very intense atmosphere, both teams played extremely hard. What year is the Syms kid from Pikeview? I've seen them twice this year, and I've been really impressed with him both times.
  4. Pretty sure Ansel Ponder is headed to Western Michigan. As well as Nubian Peak from Pulaski headed to Virginia Tech
  5. Yeah, it was a pathetic display, and on the whole I thought Pres. Bush handled it with a good sense of humor. It does seem that the two Bush presidents were destined to have some strange things happen to them overseas, though. Who remembers Bush Sr. throwing up at the big dinner party years ago.
  6. Planning on going to the D5 and d6 championship games at Lane tomorrow. What are the rules as far as being able to leave between games, is that allowed, or do they clear the stadium between games and make you pay for two of them anyway? Never been to a VA championship, looking forward to seeing some good ballplayers tomorrow.
  7. Absolutely, Lance these kids and coaches had a great season, no need to hang any heads. To the seniors on the team. Hold your head high, you're class has accomplished a ton of things in its time. To the underclassmen, your time is still ahead of you. It's up to you how much work you put into what you want YOUR legacy to be.
  8. I just saw the highlights on the Roanoke news stationl. Was the grass dead, did they have a weird kind of turf on the field? What was up with that?
  9. How many of the Taz big guys from football play basketball? I know Muncy is a good athelete, and they had a ton of tall lanky guys on the football team that physically looked like basketball players.
  10. That's a really good point. You guys have had a fantastic run over the last few years. You just happened to run into a real buzzsaw today with the bees. Nothing to hang your hat about, just thank the seniors for the wonderful things they have done, and have the younger guys start working toward next year. Richlands has a fantastic program, and will have one for many years to come.
  11. He played for Gretna, a few years ago, in Bradshaw's senior year I believe. Gretna and Graham played a state semi-final game(i ithink) at Mitchell.
  12. That's awesome, it's great to see a local talent doing well.
  13. Unfortunately, I think experience is the only thing that Richlands has on Brookville. Obviously anything can happen, but that is one huge mountain they have to climb.
  14. After seeing Muncy play yesterday, I have no problem at all seeing him being a contributor at Wake in a couple of years. I still think with his frame, he's probably looking at being moved to TE after a redshirt year. I think he's got the potential to be a very solid ACC player down the road. It all depends on how hard he works once he gets there.
  15. Yeah, it'll be worse than Utah/Pitt. At least Utah deserved to be there. The sad part is that a Boise team will be shafted to some podunk bowl while the ACC/Big East teams are flailing at one another.
  16. Just out of curiosity, how many of Tazewells fb players play basketball. They had a lot of height on the football field, and I was just wondering if that translated into basketball at all?
  17. At this point, even if he doesn't get a head coaching offer that he wants, do you think there is any possibility that Foster would be interested in a higher profile d-coordinator job if offered? Someplace like Texas or Oklahoma if those positions open up?
  18. I saw them play early in the season against Salem. They would be a contender in div. 4 this year I believe. It'll be an uphill climb for anyone from Region 4 to handle them.
  19. Yeah, I'm serious, I live in Peterstown, so I'm familiar with Bluefield, but not Tazewell. Thanks for the directions.
  20. I'm thinking about checking out the game Saturday, how do I get to Tazewells field from Bluefield?
  21. I don't really think a sloppy field will be enough for Scott to upset Bluefield, I was thinking a little farther down the line. But anything is possible.
  22. It was a great game to watch. It's going to be really tough for a AA team to knock them off. One of the things that I think hurt Bluefield in the passing game a little last night is that the receivers were not running their routes as precisely as they needed to. When you're playing against a secondary as fast and athletic as SC was, you can't round off your routes, and the Bluefield receivers were guilty of that quite a bit. That being said, they are obviously not going to play another team with this athletic of a defense, so it may not be a problem the rest of the way. The only real question mark I've got with Bluefield is how well will they do in adverse weather situations? If they get good weather all the way through, I could definitely see them at least getting to Wheeling, and quite possibly winning there as well.
  23. I think with his size, Wake will probably try to put some more weight on him and put him at Tight End. As far as how he'll do in college, well in a lot of ways that's up to him. If he has the work ethic to keep at it for the first few years without getting a lot of playing time then he's a good enough athelete to contribute down the line. And as far as the other D-1 players from this area having dominating numbers. Every one of the guys you cited, with the exception of Fuller, are in the NFL. If you're saying that he's not a pro prospect, then I couldn't agree more. But as far as college goes, I wouldn't count him out.
  24. Yeah, he's not bi-partisan at all, but honestly isn't the Chief of Staff job usually given to a partisan bulldog? I'm much more interested to see who he picks for his important cabinet posts.
  25. In Va, will the first two rounds of the playoffs generally be played on Friday or Saturday? Or will it just vary by school?
