Probably true about Graham and Richlands, but wouldn't Tazewell be a step up from Castlewood??

Looking at Coaches in area what about Coach Scammell at Castlewood. Havent they gotten better each year he has been there?? He should be a candidate.

We have had this discussion on another forum, a lot of local kids don't quit early on. Kids in this area don't understand the dedication and commitment that come with playing in college and usually quit after a semester and a season.

He said they are not, which is true. They finish tied for last in their 4 team district. They didn't really beat anyone they weren't suppose to, but lost to a couple they shouldn't.

Reading Adams' quotes would think most districts would like to keep 6 teams all the time so they are guaranteed 5 district games. Only have to find 5 non district.

Lets be honest, with the exception of the baseball coach, who has not won anything Tazewell does not have very good coaches. Also it does not attract good coaches. Community and players are not disciplined. Expectations are not realistic and little leagues are a JOKE!!! True Lee couldn't coach at thirsty dying cow to drink water, but what can you expect in Tazewell.

You all are crazy! Obviously CoachedB4 knows what he is talking about look at all the college teams he watches every Saturday do it. It must work for every team there is DUH. Clintwood already beat Gate City and Galax and George Wythe would probably beat Gate City this year as well. But Gate City does have 600 students to Clintwood's 330

Radford by 20+. Thomas Walker may not score. Ladies and gentlemen and the Region D Division 1 section. There are a few, fast kids in this area, get up around Wytheville and so on and you will see lots of fast kids. Radford's team speed will shut down Thomas Walker. Also, if I hear "well Union took Richlands down to the wire......" I may puke. That was week 2, without Devon Johnson. I wish Richlands was playing Union now. Richlands would slaughter them. Let me get this right, before everyone start going on the well it happened wagon. Richlands beat Union in a close one, without their horse running, back who is going division 1. Then Union loses to Central, who gets destroyed last 2 weeks by Clintwood, and a Burton team, that Union lucked up and beat. So does that mean that Central would beat Richlands?

Richlands at least 21 better than Clintwood. Richlands can throw the and would spread Clintwood out. You can ground and pound the other teams, you can't do it to Richlands. Heck Clintwood gave up 58 in a half to Grayson. I cannot wait until playoffs start, so people can see difference in type of athletes.

Thing, I think a lot of people don't see is UVA-Wise and Emory do recruit SWVA kids, however, they get to college see that this is not high school and it is more like a job and quit before roster's are released etc. Look at the high school you root for and think of some of the latest good players from there, how many said they were going, talked about going, then went and came home. I can name quite a few.

Don't judge Va high because of one football coaches ingnorance. Wheeler is is good coach and does things right way. Question will be is will Va High be able to match the hype.
