  1. I actually love what John Marshall and Coach White are doing. He's getting kids in school whether it through AAU or school ball. Maybe having those kids there with him is a better situation for them. We can only speculate what's going on. If the parents have those kids enrolled there then so be it. This happens here in Charlotte every year. The only difference is down here we have 20 public schools in the city. there are numerous other surrounding public schools as well as charter and private schools. Kids transfer all over the place from year to year.

  2. My G-Men will be down this year because we are back to relying on "FOOTBALL" players to really have a team. Granted our football players are athletic and will make a difference, we just won't have the basketball IQ's that we've had in the past. Young group that may have 4 sophomores in the starting lineup. The middle school group that is coming up may be special.

  3. Anybody that knows me know that I'm a diehard G-Man but am I wrong is my observation that Va High NEVER shifted their line or linebackers to the strong side when our lead blockers shifted to the side that we were DEFINETYLY running the football. I'm glad they didn't shift and I'm not sure that if would have mattered with the way our guys were blocking but not making an adjustment is just crazy.

  4. North Meck and Myers Park will both be tough games for folks. Myers Park is loaded this year with plenty of size. Elijah Strong 6'8 F, Sir Mohammed 6'5 G, Sadiq White 6'7 G and South Meck transfer Bishop Boswell 6'4 PG all have major D1 offers on the table. Strong is the only senior in this group.

North Meck has the #16 ranked recruit in the country for the 2024 class in 5 star Isaiah Evans 6'6 G

Can anyone confirm this...I've heard Coach Palmer has two outstanding kids that are going to be very good, and....does Bradshaw have another son, and former Bluefield all stater Rick Disibbio has a kid at Graham, and lastly, former Graham all stater on their 95 team title , Brandon Banks has a kid at Graham. Is this true? What grade levels are these players and if they are there, are they good?  That's a lot of talent and football genes if true.

It's Billy's son on the team. Brandon has all girls. Walter Kennard's son is also with this group of guys. They will be tough to deal with a a couple years.

I can't speak to the entire roster but I know for a fact Dennis Parker Jr. lives in the Jacobs Road area of Chesterfield, which is the opposite side of the city from John Marshall and not even in Richmond proper. Look up the difference in location of John Marshall High and Jacobs Road Elementary School on Google Maps. Parker currently has offers from LSU, NC State, Kansas, Ole Miss, Penn State, Rutgers, VCU, and Xavier.

Steve Stinson attended Trinity Episcopal prior to this season. Trinity is located near Midlothian and not remotely close to the John Marshall school district. Stinson currently has offers from Robert Morris, ETSU, Ohio, VT, and VCU.

Those are the two most difficult to hide based on their recruiting stature.

I got you. None of this is new to me being that I coach high school ball here in Charlotte. I understand how all of this works as it goes on here in the city every year. Some schools here have a bigger AAU influence that others and some schools have great coaches that have built their programs up over the years so kids tend to gravitate towards those schools. Some schools have MAGNET programs so they can get kids from other parts of the city to attend there schools by getting them into those programs. North Meck, West Charlotte, J. Chambers (Vance), and Ardrey Kell are usually good each year so they get most of the talent as far as public schools go. Of course there are plenty of kids throughout the city being that we have 19 public schools in the city.

Well, he torched Thomas on 3 different occasions when he was guarding him 1 v 1.  There is speed and there is football speed.  Watch it on NFHS if you don't believe it.  Does Bradshaw even run track?  If so, who cares, he torched all of them on the football field.  They were content to let Thomas guard Bradshaw 1 v 1.  We see how that went.

Zay doesn't run track. I'm not sure who they outran but I'm almost positive that it wasn't him.

  8. My G-Men do need to work on their running game in order to become more balanced. However, they are averaging 35 points per game. The adjustments need to be made on defense. If they are scoring 35 points in a game, they should win with all of the returning starters that they have back on defense. If someone would have said prior to the season that Graham would average 35 points per game for 10 games, most of us would say they would be undefeated after 10. The G-Men have only lost 3 football games in two years. Twice to Bluefield and once to Union. As a Graham fan and alum, I think we need to just let the coaches coach and continue to cheer for our team.
