Traditional regional boundaries will have to be adjusted if many teams move up or down a classification at the same time.

Well there are two teams close to each other that should be in class 2 and not 1...

This is somewhat related to Tazewell Football and it's why I posted it here.  For the visiting fans who are in the know, over in Burkes Garden, there is an Amish settlement.  I have been to the Amish restaurant and store over there for their incredible buffet before.  I have gone even before watching a game at Tazewell.  Well, recently as some may know, a portion of the family members that were involved with that great Amish restaurant were killed in Wisconsin.  9 people died in a tragic Van accident as they took a Van from Burkes Garden and up to Wisconsin for some type of Amish Conference.  The only survivor was a 2 year old (I think he's two) toddler.  I have no idea what will happen with that little Amish Store-Restaurant over there, but that place was fantastic.  It's a real tragedy and this has made national news.  Prayers for the Amish community and family members in Burkes Garden and that little guy who survived and is now without parents and will have to deal with that for the rest of his life.  There is a Go Fund Me Page if you are interested.

Couple of things to mention as they were friends of ours and the loss still hurts just as hard.  They went to Wisconsin to visit another sister of two of the girls killed to bring her back to Burkes Garden.  Micah is the survivor that was born on Easter two years ago (my wife had to go over to Pearisburg that morning to get the midwife and bring her over).  Byler family is devastated losing a wife, two daughters, son-in-law, and a grandchild.  He is a Deacon of the community so faith will carry him through this but still such a tragedy.  If you went into the general store, you knew Delailah as she was always so friendly and welcoming to all.  Orla was her brother and was always so helpful to anyone that needed something.

Everyone of them are good people that will be missed.  Only good thing I can say is that there were almost two others as they had just been dropped off right before the accident happened or it could have been even worse.

I love seeing the support come in from everywhere and all those that have donated and provided.

Then the NFHS needs to do better!  Videos not following the play.  Break aways or long passes and all the camera catches is the celebration in the endzone.

The facebook folks put a better product out there for free than what people were paying for.

    Again, a VHSL money grab.

I know they cant do every game but they should do for the championships like WV does.  Those are better than some of the college games you watch production wise.

I remember looking at Tazewells roster and seeing that their top 3 or 4 pass catchers were seniors. Creasy might find out next year what Reese felt like this year. IF the stats are the same without all those weapons and he end up breaking that VHSL record POY should be a not contest.

He still has McDonald which was his overall top receiver

As far as three best in 2D, Graham , Union are a given I think …I’m not sure who would be #3 , maybe Tazewell or Gate City. I don’t know how much talent either of those are losing.

Our neighbors in 2C, without Clark I’m not sure how well Radford does. I can’t see them winning the region and I know they are losing several Seniors. I think Appo is better next year, they had a lot of youth. I don’t know enough to comment on any other teams that way.

I think Bluefield is Bluefield and Princeton has another banner season.

I’m normally wrong more than right so all of this may be totally off base.

Taz loses Brody Patterson and Tyler Gillespie which are two stellar players on both sides the ball.  Taylor, Ziegler, and Alley on both sides as well.  Rizzo who was a beast on the line and some other talented players that I know Im leaving out as well. Some big losses to have to fill in but still quite a bit of offensive firepower.  Just have to fill in the holes and see what happens.

Oh and Giles fort Grundy.  I’m done commenting

Grundy made playoffs and Fort knocked off what was thought to be a powerful Narrows team.  Giles single wing makes them tough no matter if they are down or not.

Not like it was a Bland, Twin Valley, Auburn.

  7. Facts are what they are but the interceptions mentioned earlier, Union, one was critical and probably decided the game.  The other was on a third and long so it was as good as a punt if not better.  Still an int yes but field position was very critical at that point in the game.  Graham, the first two were because of an option route that was run by the receiver that he thought they were stopping instead of continuing the route.  That was caused by the huge amount of pressure he was facing and didn't have time to read it properly.  The third was a heck of a play by Edwards to snag it away.  Plus I won't discuss injuries in much detail but he was sick going into that game and probably shouldn't have even played.  For those that know the details, there is no way you can doubt his toughness trying to play through what he did.

Love the back and forth on this subject.  In this political charged county we call home, the coach decision will henge on connections rather than talent or experience.  That's a sad situation, but in reality it's the situation that has been created by the political machine within TCSB.  To often we have seen some erratic moves from this school board in hiring and firing to even think they will try to do what is best for the program.  IMO Aaron Lowe would have been a good replacement, but alas the TCSB political machine decided to remove him from the coaching position the held against all the protest from the parents of the players and fans of the team.  True we may never know what went on in that situation, but we do know his players respected him, and the results speak for themseves.  TCSB does not and will never listen to any input from this board, the players, the parents, or the fans.  In the end they will pick the person that has the best connection to the Board members, so don't be surprised if its someone you would never pick in a million years, with no experience in coaching, but oh man, what a political connection they have with the Board.

There are so many things this is evident with them on.  I don't think the school board has any fans from any of the three schools from what I know.  The superintendent does what he wants regardless of what anyone suggests to him but yet he has no spine to stand and make a firm decision either way.  Still trying to figure out how that works

It’s a shame that at this depth of playoffs you cant get quality officiating.   Balless refs let union coach call the first one.

People can say what they want but witnessed th a t last week as well. Bad when Tazewell, Richlands, Graham and even a Lee Co fan were fussing about the non calls on holding
