  1. I would say most coaches hired care about the program or at least winning to help them move onto somewhere else. Unless snodgrass is bringing some players, PH will continue to struggle.
  2. Looking at PH, it seems just about everyone has trouble relating to those kids.
  3. I may be wrong, but I know a buddy in C-Ville area that home schools and he was telling me that Richmond has a home school football team (11 man). They play the private school schedule.
  4. Does anyone have a good site for picking winners of bowl games? Thanks
  5. http://www.cnn.com/2011/12/06/opinio...del/index.html Regardless of whether you think he can or not he is winning and that is what really matters in sports. Regardless of your opinion, you can't deny he is a role model that all of us would like our sons to look up to. I can say I would rather see my sons look up to Tebow than have him look up to Suh, Brett Farve, or numerous others. I think it is awesome to see someone of character get attention. I'm sure there are many others, but they don't get the publicity that he is getting. My bad on starting a new post.
  6. What is a bigger travisity than a rematch between two teams that are the best in the country (nobody can argue that OSU is better than either of these) is that Michigan passed 5 teams ranked higher in the BCS (Arkansas, South Carolina, Baylor, K-State, Boise). Can't figure that one out. Know the rule about 3 teams from a conference in the BCS bowls, but I think the others a little more deserving. Talk about bias (Big 10 that is). As for the Heisman: are we going to give an award because the person has a good game 2 days before the final votes are given?? Just because the Big 12 (mainly because Texas continues to rape the revenue pot) is falling apart and didn't have a championship game, but is it fair to Luck/Richardson that they didn't play?? I think RG3 is the most important person on his team and probably deserves to win the award, but he wouldn't even be mentioned in the top 3 conversation if the Big 12 was still 12 teams.
  7. We have already seen what LSU's defense can do to one of these "entertaining offenses". (See Oregon and Arkansas). As a matter of fact we have already seen what Alabama can do also (see Arkansas). I read somewhere that OSU scores like every 20 seconds. They better because if they go to New Orleans that might be all the time they get the ball. LSU will just line up and pound it all night long. It will resemble the Arkansas game from both Bama/LSU (and you can't tell me Arkansa and OSU are not comparible). OSU's offense may be better, but their defense is much worse. I'm a little tired of hearing OSU fans/proponents using the plane crash as a chance for a mulligan. Tragic event don't get me wrong, but how many of those guys really knew the two coaches, knew a girl's basketball player, or was even concerned with it. My prayers go out to those two families, but I think it is lame to use that as a reason for a loss. Never once heard that from the Arkansas crowd and they lost a member of their football family.
  8. Kind of like "them" pushing border gun shops to sell to anyone......since most of the guns used in Mexican drug wars come from the United States
  9. Personally: I would like for them to have brought the body back, dead or alive, fashioned a spiked pole from the steel left over from 9-11 and stuck his a$% on it in the middle of the White House lawn or the mall in DC. However, I hope we hold ourselves to a higher standard of morals and we can take comfort in knowing the beer hater is dead and the world is a safer place from here on out for my children. I watched the video of Nick Berg getting beheaded and it still haunts me to this day. I pray I don't see anything like that again, even if it is OBL. The other thing: about 99% of what comes out of politician's mouth is 75-85% lie. Even these guys are smart enough to know that if they didn't get him, this country would openly rebel and they wouldn't only be out of a job, but likely pushing up daisies (not a threat against anyone).
  10. http://www.foxnews.com/world/2011/05/02/islamic-scholars-question-bin-ladens-sea-burial-1416556677/?intcmp=obnetwork And beheading Americans and dragging dead bodies through the streets violate the basic nature of humanity. These guys can go f%&* themselves for all I care.
  11. Coach Wright was an assistant with Coach Wheeler at VA High. I believe he went with him to Rustburg. Then came back to Marion.
  12. Yeah like that guy at Pound a few years ago. They came to PH with a huge team a couple of years ago. They looked like they borrowed some of UVA Wise's kids. They stood at the 50 yard line like the Miami Hurricanes and taunted PH. Shortly after they proceeded to get blasted. Oh yeah they also wore their home jerseys at an away game. Thought that was pretty funny. Is this an example of how coaches can waste talent?
  13. I have an 5 year ARM (in year 5) and my payment has actually went down. The loan officer told me that after 5 years, my loan would lock in at the current interest rate. Hoping it stays low until June. Are there different types of ARMs?
  14. The Tavern does have some good food. And if you like "sampling" different beers; a nice cold tall Warsteiner goes pretty good with their black and bleu medallions. Anything beats a PBR!
  15. You can't force charity and that is exactly what the government is doing. I am sorry, but 32 million is roughly 10% of the population. And if half of them don't want health care then we are throwing huge amounts of money and hurting a government assistance program (Medicare) for 5% of the population. That is not fair. I have heard before that the government gives aid to get cell phones and don't forget the digital tv coupons. I am not heartless and I feel for those people, but this is government coming into an area they are not suppose to. Pursuit of Happiness doesn't mean you get happiness, wealth, or goods. It means you have the opportunity to get them. This is the precursor to immigration reform which is designed to give the Democrats unending control of the government. I think it is appropriate to remember this. http://www.findingdulcinea.com/news/on-this-day/March/On-This-Day--Patrick-Henry-Delivers-Liberty-or-Death-Speech.html
  16. I would say after the jab the President took at the Supreme Court during the State of the Union his chances of winning this case is slim. I would hope those guys are objectionable and use only the Constitution for their guide, but how can they ignore his remark WHEN this case hits the high court?
  17. What is next? Immigration reform to grant amnesty to all the illegals, which will give them health insurance, which will give the democrats unlimited terms in power. I know health care was not even a thought when the Constitution was written, but show me where it says that the government can MAKE me carry health insurance. They tell me I have to insurance, then they can tell me what to think, write, do, and live. Health insurance cost are out of control! Then work on handling the reasons. Why does it cost a doctor $10,000 a month for malpractice insurance? Why do some many not deliver babies anymore? When I had my children, only one of the four doctors in my wife's OBGYN office delivered babies. I don't care if Boucher voted no. I agree with many and think he knew the Dems had the votes and could pass it without him so he is covering his butt. He should be removed come November. One less D in "the people's house." Did anyone watch C-SPAN? Was I mistaken, or did that goofy Pelosi compare herself to the founding fathers? Jefferson, Madison, and Washington are rolling over in their graves.
  18. A couple of more quotes that I think apply to this thread: Who said..... "The tree of liberty from time to time, must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots. It is a natural manure." "Those who refuse to fight for their liberty deserve to die slaves."
  19. Exactly. It is a decision made that should be made solely by the NCAA and all other parties involved. This is not what I vote for my representatives to do with their time in DC.
  20. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4725887 How does this apply to anything under the constitution? Let's not let the people hear about health care, cap and trade. Instead let's focus on Tiger and his personal transgressions and something that 10 years from now somebody probably couldn't tell you who won it anyways unless you are the Schwab who sits on his butt all day in their apartment watching sports or porn. This just goes to show how oppressive our government wants to become! If your representative (if you are not from this area) votes on this, just votes, you should kick his a%$ out of office and never allow him to step foot in your district again. Some of you may feel different and I have been out of the loop for a little while, but this is crazy. Just like the presidential bracket....the government of the United States is out of control.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
  21. So tradition, the ability to win championships, the ability to go the next level, the type of offense/defense are on par with the number of jerseys, pants, and helmets a team has? I think it was a ploy to get the fans fired up. It worked, but black is not mentioned as one of the school colors.
  22. This is a picture of a legal block all the way from high school through "the League". High lows are illegal at all levels. The defender cutting an offensive blocker is illegal this year in high school and college (don't know about NFL). A blocker in college can cut any place on the field unless it is at the back of the knee or on a crack block. Arkansas tried the crack cut twice and were flagged against Bama. Hightower from Bama sustained a season ending knee injury on a legal college block.
  23. "That's not our place to say, which is exactly why we have a blanket policy, which is long-standing and well-communicated to our associates, that only company-provided pins and badges can be worn on our aprons." So the long-standing policy let this guy break the dress code for a solid year and now he is being punished. Sounds a little iffy. I agree that if it is company policy than he should be fired if he refused, but the time line is a little large to place it solely on this. On the Penn State shirt, I thought of their helmets until someone "enlightened" me that it looked like a cross and PSU was wrong for selling the shirt.
  24. I am sure every one has heard about what Larry David did in his latest episode on HBO. If this was directed towards gays, racial minorities, or women; then we would be on the verge of riots. Where is the Christian upheaval? If this really offends Christians, cancel HBO, stop shopping at Home Depot. Most places have a choice; Home Depot or Lowes. Christians make up the largest religious group in the US. It is time we start acting like it and voting our values again. The last election is proof that evangelicals didn't get out and vote. I hope we don't have that problem again. On a side note: has anyone else read about the "white out" shirt that Penn State has gotten in trouble for because some people say it depicts a cross? Here is a link to the story: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,569665,00.html
  25. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/10/22/congress-approves-law-extending-hate-crime-protections-gays/ Two questions: 1) What does this have to do with national defense or defense spending? 2) What does it matter on the motive of a crime? If you kill someone, shouldn't you be punished the same whether you did it because a person was sleeping with your spouse or you don't like a person's lifestyle? Unless you do it in self-defense, isn't killing someone murder. This is total BS that it had to be attached to something unrelated and it should infuriate every citizen that our elected officials are using this tactic to get stuff passed!
