Congrats to the Ridgeview team and fans ! Great win for you guys. Like someone stated before me, anytime you beat a team the caliber of Union, that is a win to be proud of.

That's the thing, They were playing a VERY good 4A school. The Blues are going to be a good team, but have some things to work on, and a lot of people don't realize that they are young too. They play several sophs anbd freshman and have a very bright future ! Proud of how they never quit and played hard in the 2nd half when it would have been easy to have a let down ! Keep working and playing hard Blues..........it will pay off in the neaer future !

As far as this game goes, I am afraid I will have to agree with Razor on this. I love Tornado football and I also will defend them, and always be there to cheer these boys and coaches on, but in this game, playing a 4A school with the speed and athletes that they have, I just don't see this being a game that is within 3 scores. I sure hope I am wrong and I think this team has a lot of potential but maybe a little short on the speed it may take to keep up with the burg. This Blues team has a LOT of good young talent and the future looks great and they will have a good chance to make the playoffs this year, but I do worry about this and the Beaver game. I love the fact that coach Mance and his staff will play anybody and play a tough schedule. I think it will payoff in the near future. I hope the boys will prove me very wrong here and I stuggle to even write this because I don't want the team to think we don't have their back, but I will always be a Tornado through and through. I just think that in this game, the speed may be too much to deal with. Lord, please let me be wrong on this !! I am usually wrong on picking games so I hope this is another one of those times ! Go Blue !

The Dogs get the win this week. The future looks good with the players they have and the way they play. They will be a tough out for anybody they play with the exception of Bluefield, but that can be said for just about everyone that plays with the Beaver........oops, I mean plays the Beavers.....

Yep.......I had a badly dislocated shoulder back when I played as a soph. and had issues with it both Jr and Sr years, and as a matter of fact still have issues with it to this day. Of course I should have had surgery for it and never did so probably my fault for the issues I have. Hopefully he will be fine and be back to the field soon !

It's game day ! Just want to wish all the Bears fans and their team a safe trip to and from Ernie Hicks this evening and also a safe ride for all of our Richlands fans too ! Also wish the same to all the fans and teams of all the games tonight ! It should be another great game and hope both teams come out of the game healthy ! Always look so forward to this matchup ! Good luck to both............but maybe just a little more for my Blues !

I'm going to go with Da Blues in a close game...28 to 24.......( have no idea where that score came from ) but I do think it will be another close game in this great rivalry. The thing for me is how the blues D-line holds up to the Bears O-line. The blues need to get off the field when they get the chance on 3rd downs. If Union is able to control the line of scrimmage and keep the ball away from the blues and control the clock then the Bears will get the win. On the flip side, the Blues O-line has to be able to give Race enough time to fine his receivers. Race is very mobil and can make a play if under pressure, but to beat the bears the line needs to give him time to find those big receivers. If the o-line does this, then I think the Blues win this game. Then again, I'm probably all wrong on everything I just wrote so just disregard everything I said ! I really have no idea about this game, I just hope my Blues can pull this one out ! Oh, by the way, there is only 1 red light from the Moose to the high school and I have gotten there in under 4 minutes, but we will not talk about the blue lights that followed me there. They wanted my autograph...........or that's the story I'm going with !

Da Blues - 35 GC - 7 It should be fun watching Race and his receivers throwing ball all over the field. They have some young guys that will be exciting to watch. I hope they are able to get some semblance of a running game to go along with that. They have some tall kids which if I'm not mistaken, I heard Rocky mention on the radio broadcast last week as being, "15 kids at least 6'2" or taller" with a receiver that is 6"5", but the o-line doesn't have the beef that the blues are use to having which will hurt the blues in the running game against some of the teams they will be playing. But the line will get better and are athletic, but they are going to rely on Race throwing and the band of receivers catching the ball for the most part. . The D got pushed around a little at times last week which is a little worring especially when they get into the tough part of the schedule...........which doesn't take long, like in week 2 against Union ! But they are well coached and have some talent and will improve, but they do play a tough schedule again this year. I'm a "homer" and trust Mance and his staff to get the best out of these kids. They have a good looking future with some of the freshman and Sophs. they have on the team. Going to be fun watching them grow and watch the air raid this year. As good as Appo is, you just can't keep giving them such good field position on kickoffs ! Hell of a game though it sounds like !

Me Too, I watched as much as I could ( with the twitter feed ) and kept up with what was going on in the game on here, but I was heart broken I couldn't be there in person and be a part of, and take in the atmosphere ! I love College football and the NFL........but not to the same extent as college, but to me, there is nothing like a great high school football atmosphere, especially at places like Bullit Park, and Gate City, Ernie hicks and a number of other places around our area !

Congrats to Union on a great season ! I wish you could have pulled it out, but you played the 2 time state champion tough. Congrats to mitchell on a great high school career and hope you have a wonderful college career ! Congrats also to Appo on winning another state semi final and good luck as you go for 3 in a row !
