Does anyone know the schedule for the benefit games this year?

I remember in 2001 when Gate city beat Grundy for the region, Lots of GC fans gave Grundy a hard time. The particular highlight was beening called a F**king pussy while we had the team prayer. Highschool sports fans can get a little overzealous at times

Mount View is terrible. They should when at least one more and if Hurley put up 26 on Honaker anybody should be able to play with them.

Galax and Grayson are good, but I'm guessing they want nothing to do with the Tigers and want to stay really far away from the Beavers

Hurley didn't score an offensive touchdown.......How did they give it away......If anything Grundy tried to give it away with some inexperienced mistakes.

We are going to run through you like a dose of salts. All of south holston lake could freeze over and there wouldn't be enough ice for the Canaries on Saturday morning. The only way Abingdon wins this game is if a band competition brakes out at half time.

Grundy's enrollment has actually went up a little this year. They are currently a little over 500. Neither TV nor Hurley are half the size of Grundy.

Grundy might stumble out of the blocks, but the wave will get it together. They have been learning to win this year. I think they finally have the formula in place. Grundy played well in a scrimmage against another wave that just recently washed over the tigers. James Colley will come up with something , but in the end Wave will drown the cats. Please Leonard lay off the tigerettes

Tonight proved Grundy can play ball. They are on the verge of turing some heads. It don't think they can win the district, but they should be able to knock off a district team or two. This is an important year for the Wave. It is their last hoorah in AA and they have been everybodies wimping boy for 5 seasons now. With Kelly under center and Berglowe running the ball like he did tonight Grundy isn't a push over for anybody. Berglowe had 200 + yards on the ground and a kick off returned for a touchdown. Kelly has developed into a good passer than usually puts the ball exactly where it needs to be. Ben Rife and Cody Justice are excellent recievers. You also have to mention Daniel Lowe and Jake McCown for some decent packs. Dillion O'Quinn has great speed and had many good plays as a D back. Not to mention Cody Rife who is a pretty fair runner when he gets the chance and is a superb tackler. Eric Hodge is making some good plays on the defensive line. #55 also made some great plays tonight on defense. Plus this is the first time in years I've seen Grundy hit. Alot of pad were popped tonight. Congrats to the Golden Wave

If my memory serves me correctly, Grundy had the ball 7 times during the game and scored 4, turned it over twice and punted once. The two turnovers came on drives that they were moving the ball well and probably in my opinion would have scored. Not to mention the opening kick was probably the most beautiful wedge I have ever seen and the returner made a poor decision and was tackled by the only guy who could still make the tackle. So they probably would have scored over 40 point if they had not made those silly mistakes. Defensively how many tackles can you miss. I would love to know how many times Grundy players missed tackles in the back field that ended up being 8+ yard gains for East Ridge. In my opinion, the scores makes that game look much closer than it really was. Matewan is beatable. If Grundy comes out and tackles, then expect a wave victory against the might Matewan tigers.

Grundy is on the verge of being mediocre. For the first time in years they are actually playing football. If they get a little confidence and some momentum, then they may actually luck up and beat some of the weaker district teams. I hope so anyway since this is their last year in AA.
