Understand the safety factor and sad not to see games live, but keeping the parents of the players from attending is totally insane.  Unless I am just a crazy old man, I believe football is still played outside, and if I recall correctly the science points to being out in fresh air as a positive.  I think the player's family members could set in groups and maintain spacing efficiently enough to match what science dictates.  This pandemic is for real, but our politicians need to let science do the talking, not their unimaginable control syndrome.  We have no common sense in VA's government for sure.

I think he was "kidding on the square" about the virus's disappearance on 11/4.  While obviously the virus will be no less transmittable or no less deadly, you're kidding yourself if you think the narrative won't change, for better (Biden) or worse (Trump).

It’s not the kids that we worry about. It hasn’t been. We know they are highly unlikely to succumb to COVID. 
But it’s their parents and grandparents who they live with. When they go to school and get it — and we’ve already seen it all across our region where schools went back and there’s been clusters of cases within the schools — do they bring it home to their families who maybe have multiple comorbidities or are of poorer health?
Its the same argument for sports. The kids aren’t going to die playing football right now. But they may get it and go home and kill they parent(s). 
I hate this virus as much as everyone else. But taking aim at Haun for saying what is 100% the truth — there is no normal — just seems politicized and frankly petty. 

what data?? well that tells me all i need to know. this doesn't kill kids, 0 kids have died in the state of VA under the age of 18  and only 56 died nation wide, compare this to other diseases. median age of people passing from covid is 78 and guess what happens to be the life expectancy in America? you guessed it 78. kids should be in school this has become politicized and here we are. but don't worry after Nov 4 it will all disappear.  all the deaths well when the smoke clears and they actually find out who died of covid and who died with it the numbers will look alot different.

well the secretary of education came out today stating schools should be open full time and no part time schedule. she is actually looking at the science and how it affects the kids and not cnn.  

According to TJ's quote in the KTN, they haven't gotten the same calls in the area games that they received in the Arby's.  Anyone who's watched the Arby's all these years should know that any local team playing a non local team always gets the calls in that tournament to promote local success.  I didn't watch Wise this year in the Arby's but I would bet they got their share of calls as well.  As for the Abingdon game, TJ/Wise cannot complain about the officiating in that game because the foul calls were very 1-sided in Wise's favor throughout the game.  Abingdon jumped out 11-0 in the first quarter and then every time our kids got near a Wise player it was a foul.  At one time early in the first half it was Abingdon 10 fouls-Wise 2 fouls with both teams playing full court man defense.  Late in the 2nd quarter there was a barrage of fouls called on Wise to somewhat even it up by halftime.  Then early in the second half Abingdon had 7 fouls against them quickly with 2 players having 3 fouls.  The differences in the game was Abingdon finally getting their shooting touch back, out rebounded Wise rather handily, and played with great heart down the stretch.  Hayes stepped up late in the game like great players do and hit some crazy shots to pull back close but it was too late.  

Aren't you guys all adults getting paid? Criticism comes with the territory, if you can't handle it, find another profession. 
And it's not about him personally because no one actually cares about him in that context. You're aware of what memes and jokes are, right? Havoc wasn't mocking Akers, it's mocking all the debate on here about his coaching acumen. 
 
no one is going to kiss your ass because you're a coach, and it's insane that you think coaching makes you above reproach. Just because people can't devote their life to breaking down high school film for free doesn't mean they can't share their opinion. It's up to you to figure out if you find the criticism valid and actually take it to heart or brush it off because the person doesn't know shit.

The Akers stuff isn't about him personally, how do you still not get it? It's a meme specifically to this forum. It's an inside joke and it's not used to denigrate Chris Akers. 

So someone making a light hearted joke is an asshole, but the person going completely over the top saying nasty stuff to a person personally isn't one? How does that make sense?

Thats not my point at all, and I am not saying concussions don't happen in football.  I am saying a concussion can happen just as easy in another sport, Soccer in particular is the leading sport for concussions!

Anyone that played football has seen "Stars" or "Glitter".  Concussions happen, but your son would have a very good piece of "Headgear" on. Today's technology is unreal, and will be even better as he grows up.  I have heard this same sentiment from other former athletes.  Football is a great contact sport, and needs to be taught better at the youth level.  Guys like you need to step up and coach, and teach kids the proper fundamentals of "Head Placement" on tackles and proper form.  Soccer is the sport that leads in concussions.  Have fun watching him grow, and hopefully he is a football player one day. 

Just a quick note this is the first time Chilhowie has lost in region D. Congrats to the Raiders. I'll still be pulling for PH for the Hogo connection, but whoever represent the supposedly irreverent SWVA in 1a or 2a I'll root for both of you. I honestly just hope someone can knockout Riverheads. Btw can someone explain to me how Riverheads is still 1a?

Graham came ready. Have heard nothing but good things about coach Palmer. Wish him luck down the road. The boys came ready.  Obviously the horn didn’t bother them. Your false starts we’re by the player farthest from it. But I could see you being that kind of coach. Then get run out of town when your star qb or other player get injured and out (God forbid that happen). You need to quit being a b!tch and change your tampon. Your team was clearly the better team. If you a have a beef with the AD and you breaking rules, you don't take it out on Graham kids by sounding a train horn during the cadence. You can label me what you like, be it bad, the Devil, Manson, Jesus, or Ronald MacDonald. What Union did was wrong. You show great intensity with me saying Graham should not have put up 80, yet not much with the low class BS Union pulled on the Graham kids last night. I can be as unpopular as you wish. That's fine. What Union did was WRONG and nearly a day later, not ONE, not one has came out and stated, the train horn was uncool at the snap. 

Nope, I stand by the post Regardless of how popular it is or isn't. What Union did was WRONG and it shouldn't be allowed in High School Football.  It's laughable that in the year 2019, a team can actually blow a train horn while the opponent is calling the cadence. It's wrong and shouldn't be tolerated or allowed simply because the score was a blowout.
