114-84-2....against who? West Greene? Hancock? Volunteer? The Sullivan Co teams? SWVA teams don’t play DB. They don’t play Science Hill. They don’t play Tenn. High. They don’t play Greeneville. A lot of those wins are against the smallest and weakest NETN has to offer. That would be like NETN being proud they’re beating Rye Cove, Hurley, Twin Springs, Thomas a Walker etc.

Marion's games were streamed online at one time I believe, but I'm not sure about now. WNVA out of Norton streamed some games for a while too.

I saw talented kids. Maybe not that of the 2014 team, which was very solid, but talent that wasn't being used appropriately. I don't understand why they didn't run more and I would get #12 the ball on jet sweeps, HB tosses, quick passes to a slot position, something. He's useless at WR if the QB can't get a pass off.

Don’t know his stats but #52 Matthew Gibson from Rye Cove had 10+ tackles and I know of one sack against Hurley Friday night. The kid played a very good ball game!

I was just putting in my two cents. Just because it has been close in recent years doesn’t mean it will be close this year. Who knows what we will see, that’s why we play games every year. And @Union_Fan is correct, I meant the Union O was consistent & ate up clock with long drives. I just think this Richlands team will dial up big plays on offense and will get a few stops on D Friday night. I’m just happy Football is back in SWVA! Good luck & good health to both teams -

It would be contrary to the narrative that the only problem at GC is a lack of talent. Can’t have that.

I honestly expect Union to come out in the T and pass the ball less than 7 times all night. By comparison, I expect Richlands to pass the ball around 80% of the time. The Blues kept it very vanilla last night. Simple passing routes, no double moves, no real downfield shots either aside one on a broken play. I think this is another instant classic that we will talk about all year.

After watching live last night, then getting to watch film, I have a few takeaways for each team; For Tazewell, I saw some youth related mistakes, especially defensively. Also, that youth will only get better. They will win multiple games this season, that most won't expect them to. I can see them being a playoff team this year, while being one of the top teams in the region in 2019 and 2020. For VHS, as I predicted on here earlier, our starting lineup can be dominant, early in games this season. We can hurt you in all 3 phases of the game. We have a big lack of depth, and it showed last night. Neither our top backup skill player, nor our top backup lineman were dressed for the game, because of injury. That is brutal for a team that already is thin in their depth to begin with. Kudos to both teams on a hard fought game. Kudos to Tazewell, for not giving up, after VHS laid an early beat down on them. Most teams would have rolled over after what transpired in the 1st quarter. Kudos to the Bearcats, especially the 9 players who start on both sides of the ball, for hanging tough throughout the game, knowing that the team couldn't really afford for you guys to even take a small breather. Good luck to the Bulldogs the rest of the way. Exciting times ahead for Tazewell!
