GMen show off their state championship rings!

Will be curious to see how the Maroon Tide fare against Martinsville (both on March 12th and the 21st). Liberty scrimmaged the Bulldogs pretty even last night at their place (1-2 aggregate score over three 30 minute periods). Very physical team that -- predictably -- plays in the style of their local travel club (PYSL).

Oh to be a fan again. I report next Friday morning for my first college scrimmage of spring ball, have a clinic to attend Saturday, and two more preseason clinics already on the calendar paid for with rooms booked. VHSL stuff usually won't start up until the end of July, but if you pull double duty like me, you literally get about 2 months away from football. I'm not complaining though, just providing some insight to those that are not aware of the work and sacrifice that goes into our avocation as officials. Remember, we don't drop out of the sky on Friday's and Saturday's.

Thats the issue though. Everyone with eyes knows GC is better with Zac and it's not even close. But the team had developed good chemistry without him and those role players knew they had to step up to win games which in theory should pay dividends. However, now that hes back.....the role players dont seem to get involved as much (aside from the 4th qtr vs Graham). If those guys will continue to step up and all contribute now with Zac back in the fold instead of taking the backseat and watching the Brad and Zac show then yes.....I agree they have a a chance at it again. But almost anyone that's watched them all year would agree....the team right before Zac went out looked like a shell of what it was at the beginning of the season. The first glimpse of that same team was the end of the game against the Gmen. If they can sustain that for 4 qtrs.....its gonna get interesting.

I was also the Stadium voice of the G-Men for the last 5 games last year. I led them to the title. lol

Both of these statements are correct. Kids attending outside their area only happens in Richlands and it is indeed bad, very bad. At Union, we like to refer to it as Intellectual Annexation. Just trying to give these kids a helping hand in being successful in achieving their goals and dreams in life. Any ability to play sports, especially football, is completely coincidental. An anomaly, if you will. Also, we are currently accepting applications for any students that may be over 6'3" and 300 lbs or can run a sub 4.6 40. After all, isn't discrimination against speedy and/or big and tall young men between the ages of 15-18 a travesty that we should all be working to curtail? 😁
