Galax rb Steven Peoples topped 2,000 yards for the season Friday, in just his 8th game. Really just 7 1/2. I think he had one carry in the second half in week 1 before sitting out the rest of that game and the following game. 

The Galax school board has approved a motion to add swimming as a winter sport beginning next school year.  The summer recreation program has been strong for many years in the Blue Ridge Swim League.  They should be competitive right off the bat.  Both of my girls are on the summer swim team and are extremely excited about the prospects of getting to do this for their school.

The Pilgrims Knob Heritage Festival has scheduled the following events for this Saturday, November 10th, 2012.

That's funny.  Richlands would have beaten Lord Botetourt if they hadn't scored so many touchdowns. 
 
Look, turnovers are part of the game.  The defense has a lot to do with turnovers, so do us all a favor and show some class.  Tazewell got beat.  Richlands was the better team.  Suck it up.

Whenever we get a first down, Coach Posey leads the crowd over the PA by saying "And that's another Trojan...FIRST DOWN!" Honaker fans at the homecoming game started doing it when they'd get a first down too, lol. Bill Brooks leads the Trojan cheer where the crowd spells out Trojans and cheers.

I understand the rule that is being enforced by the WVSSAC, but it's still a damn shame that because of the circumstances, they still deemed him in violation.  Granted I'm a little biased towards Bluefield and I know the younger Collier brother, mother, and their situation, but this may be the only shot the kid has to use basketball to get a chance at a college education.  I wouldn't be surprised to see a court injunction to block this rule to get Collier back to Bluefield, but I don't want to see the courts brought into this at all.  On a positive note, he may be better off for playing at another school in another state for a different coach.  I don't know.  He may have better teaching in the class and on the court and he may get better exposure to college coaches.  We shall see. 
 
I'm routing for the kid no matter where he is.
