Marion is playing Grayson at Marion's Homecoming. Stephen James, Marshall Doss, and Tim Smith are all coaching in the game and Steve Wright is on the Marion sideline with Fellowship of Christian Athletes duties.
All of whom are participating in an impromptu 20 year reunion of Marion's 2001 State Tournament team (Wright and James were coaches, Smith and Doss were players).

I swear I'm not trying to be argumentative; I really don't have the slightest of clues as to what's going on at VA High other than what I've been told, so you're as likely to be correct as anything else I've heard, but Keith Perrigan is saying there were three positive tests in a public press release on behalf of Bristol City Schools.

I'd throw Chilhowie into the conversation of community support. It's nearly impossible to separate the school from the town. The town signs are orange and black, as are the fire trucks, the EMS truck, and police cars. The town's newest park is named, of course, Warrior Park. When groups buy t-shirts unrelated to school, such as a church group, orange and black are the predominant colors. A number of businesses will use the same color scheme on its signage. You can eat at Warrior Island Seafood or eat a Warrior Burger at another restaurant. The warrior head logo, arrowhead, and slanted C are ubiquitous, particularly on yard signs and the family car. An inordinate number of parents will wear Warrior gear year-round as a part of their daily dress. For games, Chilhowie fans are about as enthusiastic as you'll find.
I can understand a business in a two school town (Bluefield VA/WV) not wanting to go all-in for one team. Why choose a business name that could alienate half of your potential customers on Day 1?

The correct answer is @Plywood_King, however, I did take 107 on my way out.

I for one miss the days of Chico being in the stands at Marion. May he rest in peace.

    Marion 36, Northwood 14, Final
Hats off to Northwood for playing and finishing this one. I don't care that Marion is down, there is no reason why Northwood, with 13 healthy players, should be playing a 2A school with 47 players. Smith showed a lot of class in his decision making, but until Northwood's numbers improve, this series needs to go back to being in hiatus.
This was the most awkward game I've ever seen in my life; the final score doesn't indicate what a horribly unfair mismatch it was.

Chilhowie was without their starting runningback, which, if anyone knows anything about Chilhowie, should have been enough to spot Burton 14 points. I don't know that it's a condemnation against Burton, or if Chilhowie is that much improved.

Down by 21, Marion just punted from the Central 35 yd line for a touchback. You can't even make this up...

Marion's PA announcer introduced Central as the Wise Indians. That's Marion's football program in a nutshell.

I'm with Jags here. Marion has the ability to make this a game for the first half, assuming Central's offensive scheme doesn't completely befuddle Marion defense. Again, I don't think Marion wins or even sniffs a victory in the 4th, but I stand by what I said last week: before the season is over, Marion will put a scare into a team that they shouldn't on paper.

Chilhowies cases where after the game so Marion will still play as of right now. This will be the best competition wise has seen so far this year. Thats not saying much because Eastside and Lebanon have not impressed me so far. Wise is a very good well coached team but if they are looking ahead to Ridgeview it could be a good game. Marion has some good athletes out side that can make plays. I would not be surprised at all if this is Wise has to play to whole game in this one.

Kinda like Tazewell bringing the starters back in the game late in the 4th quarter against the Canes last year

I remember HogoOnline and crew talking about it being a joke how many flags we were throwing and such.  It wasn't a fun night for anyone I can assure you of that.  We were just as thrilled as anyone a game like that one was over.
I don't remember Joey being tossed. Pretty sure it was just a necessary talk with the young man about what had happened.  I may be mistaken though. If memory serves me correctly, Joey or his bother was much closer to being tossed by our crew maybe at Rural Retreat one time.

Forget the whole Sweden reference, which is a ridiculous Apples:Oranges comparison on multiple different levels that I don't have time to discuss in full detail.  It's funny that you accuse Ryan of moving goalposts, then you literally do exactly that by comparing this to swine flu.  But since it submarines your entire argument, I'm happy to play that game.
The 2009 swine flu killed 12,649 people among those 75,000,000 people affected.
COVID-19 has killed 631,000 people among those 38,200,000 infected.  As a point of reference, that's not too far away from the total number that AIDS has killed in the U.S. in the last 40 years.
COVID-19 is roughly 100 times more deadly than the swine flu.  Using that as any justifiable comparison for policy's sake is patently idiotic.

Jags52 is 100% correct on this.  Double birds to the opposing bench/stands along with certain words tends to lead to you no longer participating in the contest.

My crew and I worked this game. If I remember correctly 38 combined flags split basically even. It was an ugly game. Both teams were very young. One play late in the game I threw a flag on a Chilhowie WR and a player went down with cramps after the play. Robinson holler and asked me to come to the sideline.  He at that time was typically pretty animated so I was expecting this to not be a fun conversation. He asked what they flag was for. Holding on the WR maybe 33 or 34 was the jersey number.  He said that’s about his 3rd or 4th time tonight isn’t it. I said it was. He made a comment about the rough number of flags and even said sadly they are all probably legit. Not something you typically hear in a flag fest.  Both coaches knew they were young. Thesebwere felony flags not misdemeanors that night.  Just way more than anyone wants to see. Coaches. Players. Parents. Fans. Officials.  Anyone. You just aren’t doing a team favors if you continually let felonies go and it impacts them down the road though.

That penalty and ejection was against a player not Carroll. But It is kind of stupid to eject a kid AFTER Chillhowie took a knee and the clock was seconds away from hitting zero

This rivalry is as even as possible.
In the last 10 games, each team has 5 wins.
In the last 20 games, each team has 10 wins.
In the last 30 games, each team has 15 wins.
