I just voted for this week and did not include W VA teams or north of Marion. Didn't consider them SWVA of course I guess I was basing off of Herald COurier coverage.

Falconfan great points. Times were different in the days I believe you were talking about. Anyone that would want to compare today's education to the good ole days are just plain wrong. Yes kids slipped through the cracks and graduated but the same things happen today. It goes back to everyone gets a trophy mentality.

Food for thought from a football perspective.....Year around practices need to be monitored by Admin (LOL). For years basketball had open gyms or AAU year round but the football coaches were not allowed by rules to let kids throw pass routes supervised. Baseball could do the same. SO year round has been going on as long as there was a coach willing to give his time to open up a gym or a practice field. Eliminate an open week? Teams need to have a time to heal, shorten the playoffs could work for one week but does that really matter? SC, NC, TN I beleive all have 5 week post season games. Basketball season began Nov 11 and the tean that plays for the state championship will play the week of March 9. About the same amount of weeks. Just thoughts

Tougher schedule for Burton? Ridgeview week one of course but the rest would favor PH. They played several of the same teams.

Could be a shootout. Had Burton not had penalties they could have scored several time and CHilhowie had two turnovers inside the 5. Last year was a wild shootout.

Don't hate greatness they are on a different level and have a great program.

I don't think people realize the level of play that Riverheads and Galax plays on. That is why Chilhowie deserves a bunch of credit for wins two years in a row. BTW Ridgeview is a very talented SWVA team and last week was taken to the woodshed by single a Pikeville.

Honaker will be the 8 seed at worse. Rural Retreat can not catch them and neither can Twin Springs. Hurley cn not either. Just check out the post and add points.

Always a discussion and reality is the schedules are very similar. The hey both have the 4 district games and both played 2 2A schools that struggled this year. Outside of the JIB the teams are equal.

With the talent level on both sides if both stay healthy it could be repeat of last year. Playing again in 4 weeks.
