Your more than welcome.  Might want to get there early.  Abingdon has had large crowds and I'm guessing Union will travel well but There should be more than enough seating on the visitors side.  Safe travels as you all come over.

There are several Parking lots around the high school. Depending which way you come into Abingdon.  From Hwy 19, via Russell Rd, and left onto Valley St.  If you come down Valley St, Which will turn into Walden Rd and turn Right onto Boone St towards the high school you can make a left at the old tennis courts about halfway up Boone St and park in the lower parking lot.  I believe there is a sign there that says Washington County Schools Maintenance.  There is a ticket booth there and is closest to the visitors side.  Also there is a concession stand on the visitors side.  You can also park on Thompson Dr (Boone St turns into Thompson Dr as you go past the practice field).  Directly next to the school is a parking lot but that is reserved parking only.

I think he should be back this week.  You are right, he is legit and can score from anywhere on the field.

They said he had a hip injury which was bad for us.  Congrats to the Wolfpack for not giving up and making the halftime adjustments.

Some will say say he has a really good assistant coach who is doing it all.  Some will say he has done a fantastic job alone.  Some will say he inherited a plethora of talent and it's easy to be successful with talent and athleticism.  And all may be a factor to some degree.
But the truth of the matter is that the great and most successful head coaches generally surround themselves with coaches wiser than themselves. Not to mention develop their feeder programs to keep the kids interested and buying into the future of the program.  most programs ebb and flow.  Like the old saying goes "What goes up...Must come down".  Graham has been trending up the last few years and credit to their head coach and his staff for building it back up.

This has become quite the interesting match up. Abingdon's former offensive coordinator is at VHS.  It definitely appears that the Bearcats run the AHS offensive scheme from the past few years. This year AHS running a methodical ground and pound attack. Should be a good match up.

If you are talking about Richlands last year I wholeheartedly agree.  This year, I'm not sure.  HVHS has a really good QB and their running back is as hard a runner as I've seen.  Kinda puts me in mind of the Zirkle kid from Union.
I can't say RHS is better than VHS.  But time will tell.
Not sure I would take Galax over Northside.
Cburg plays hard, but their issue is execution and turnovers.  Athlete wise they have plenty of athletes.  Its just the mental mistakes that cost them games.

Abingdon and Virginia High.. Kind of a rivalry I guess due to proximity.  More so in Baseball.  Football has been dominated by the Falcons in recent years.  but still a bit of a rivalry there.
Since moving to the mountain district we don't really have a district rival yet.

Falcon Mania reacted to BigO in AHS vs Pulaski County?
Actually, before last night they had only attempted like 4-5 passes in the first 2 games combined.  Once they fell behind and into the 4th qtr they started passing.  I think they threw 1 pass in the 3rd (I think it was 3rd) qtr to Farris for the TD, but it was a screen so the TD should be credited moreso as a run than pass. Their passing game wasn't bad but Reed sure wants to run the ball. It's not Sturgill, but he wasn't bad.  Hard to break away from the run game for 3.5 qtrs and jump into shotgun and pass.  Little late to find a rhythm.  It was necessary in an effort to win, but just wish Reed wouldve thrown a little more mid-game to open the running up some.  I think what Pulaski did was just tackle anybody coming across the LOS from the backfield and hopefully one of them had the ball.  And much more often than not, that worked.  If AHS wants any success as the year progresses they are going to have to develop a passing game.  I don't mean Sturgill-esque.....just enough the keep defenses honest.  JMO. Not to take anything away from Pulaski, but they weren't anything special...nobody with lightning speed, QB was so-so...he missed a ton of wide open receivers, kicking game better than average, decent sized Dline.  I truly think AHS had a better than average chance to win last night.  Pulaski staff did a great job adjusting and AHS didn't adjust anything until, like I said earlier, into the 4th when they started passing a bit.  Abingdon defense did a very good job the first couple of series but then Pulaski started passing and they opened their playbook a little bit. AHS has what appears to be a 5 play playbook. Well, 10 plays if you count both sides. Lol.
