swva_havok_fan got a reaction from Jamesnok in 1A and 2A West UNOFFICIAL power points through week 4
So, the last few years, I wanted to study and understand just how the power points were calculated. And thanks to VHSL Helper's site, I think I have got the math down for the most part. I would love for Colley to come back, however, I think it will never happen.

Well, Lee High did win this game last year on a Ridgeview TD that was called a stop at the one inch line. So, you just never know.

I don't think any entrance in SWVA tops George Wythe's or Union's. I've never seen Lee High's but George Wythe's gave me chills last year.

First half, they were playing Yates at QB and he threw the picks. Fourth quarter, they were playing Mullins at QB (who finished out the year last year) and were successful.
Mullins needs to be taking the snaps. Not Yates.

Heather and Casey are great people. I've talked with both in person on several occasions. Heather is very knowledgeable about the Tennessee side but isn't as informed about the Virginia side. When Sacco was on the Thursday night picks, he was the star of the show hands down and really was informative on the Virginia side of things. Also, Jordan Conigliaro who is now in Pittsburgh also had begun to develop an understanding and huge knowledge of the Virginia side before he left.

I really liked when the BHC released a single edition football preview instead of spreading it out over two weeks of papers. Oh well, guess subscriptions declining and papers bought at newsstand declining/higher website traffic increasing will cause you to do that.

Interesting stuff BR, thanks. I didn't realize Mark Dixon was already on top of the wins list for Galax but I shouldn't be surprised. Galax didn't make the playoffs once for the first 60+ years of the program and only have 5 playoff appearances prior to Dixon's arrival. They haven'y missed the playoffs once in Dixon's tenure.
1920-1984 = 0 playoff appearances
1985-2009 = 5 playoff appearances and 2 postseason wins
2010-2015 = 6 playoff appearances, 15 postseason wins, 2 state championship appearances, 1 state title
Coaching matters!
Credit to Craig Worrell of the Galax Gazette for the information. He puts out a football preview every fall and it is phenomenal.

Yeah, I saw the sign that said Fried Oreos and got giddy, then was punk slapped in the face when I realized they weren't selling any. :(
I will say this though... Best freaking hot dogs I have ever had. :)

I was going to throw that out there too but figured I would get blasted with the "THAT GAME WAS TWO YEARS AGO" crap.
Appy State actually won the Sun Belt in 2014 also, although they were bowl ineligible because of being a new member to FBS.

I don't have a dog in the fight. I just work with folks who support both schools and generally got this feeling from all that as long as Northwood beats Chilhowie or vice versa, all is right with the world for the fans of the winning school, no matter how the rest of the season goes. :)

Stop with Lee Corso already... Lol. But yeah, what you said and what goose said. I'll take the Cats and +14. Also, would be nice for Battle to win because it only means more power points for the Wolfpack.
