Princeton should definitely compete. I looked at the WV reclass system and counted 30 total AAA schools, so right off the bat 1 in 30 teams win a title and 1 in 15 teams will at least play for a state title.  The Tigers still have to contend with the likes of Fairmont Senior who moved up from AA and Herbert Hoover, Point Pleasant, etc. Interestingly, I see where Independence moves up to AAA. The Beavers stay AA. Princeton has a golden opportunity to do big things.  Teams like Hurricane, Morgantown, Parkersburg and Parkersburg South, Martinsburg are now rightfully in AAAA.

Bridgeport is AAA. Fairmont and Bridgeport will be Princeton’s main competition in AAA.

Bluefield will probably coast in AA also.

Bluefield has been down the last couple of years and they’re in a class with James Monroe who beat them last year and Williamstown who has been pretty dominant in A. Scott was good last year as well and you also have Wheeling Central. Maybe when those middle schoolers get to be juniors and seniors.

  3. Saw Oak Hill has dropped Bluefield. I guess because they’re 4A and playing a 2A team doesn’t benefit them. Pretty surprised under the new system Bluefield wouldn’t be 3A. Anyway that’s sad. They have been playing each other for decades and are fairly close. Bluefield might find another game somewhere but looking likely they won’t have a ten game schedule.

Interesting that Clements hasn't signed. Is he maybe waiting for a better offer and sign in February, or maybe go the JUCO or prep school route? I'd guess he also has FCS and DII offers as well.

As far as I know he has UAB, Florida A&M, Army, Navy, LIU, Morehead St, a few D2 offers like Concord and Emory.

I saw that.  I'm not too sure about that choice.  I don't think that was a full-ride (judging by the verbiage)....could be wrong.  If it is a PWO, I don't know if going as PWO for Deion is a good move, especially if some of his other offers are committable full-rides.

I watched his film and couldn't decipher if they see him as TE or DE.  I bet they like that 6'5", 220lb frame that also plays basketball, though.

Speaking of walk-ons....has anyone heard how the Union DE from last year (Gabe?) that went to UVA is doing or how Brody Jone at VT is doing?

He’s class of 2025. Do they offer walk ons to juniors at this stage?

Yeah, I'm not going to argue with the folks on here anymore about it.  I am in the thought process that you are that there needs to be more variety.  It has the potential to be a great tournament, but I don't want to spend $10-$15, whatever the session cost is to watch district games in a holiday tournament.  It's apparent the majority of the folks on here like this tournament the way it is though, so be it.

I didn't even like the fact that D-B played Maryville last week in the Arby's.  Even though it's not a district or even region matchup, it is a decent possibility it could be a substate matchup later down the road.

I’m going to agree with this. It’s fun to see teams play who don’t typically play each other year in and year out. It’s fun to see some inter-state match ups as well. In a tournament you shouldn’t be playing a district opponent.

There's not just one, three in double digits tonight, Ray, Graham, & Fix; Relatively young team. That place was electrifying tonight. Great game! Don't quote me but I don't think Graham has beat Bluefield at actual BHS gymnasium since I was in school in the 80s. I will say the best player on the court for Bluefield was RJ Hairston , I think he accounted for 1/2 their points.

Hairston and Gore combined for 50 of Bluefield’s 56 points
