So I'm just wondering how throwing you hands up and getting frustrated because you've been getting blown up in the backfield up like makes you a bad person or something???? If you asked someone that actually knew him they would probably tell you he is very humble and a great kid. Its football it happens every Friday night any where you go you will see someone showing frustration. What about how #44 for Union acts out there on the field at times???

    #44..Na that's the WATERBOY!!

    That's not frustrated...That's just him he's little crazy🤣😁🤔

Many years ago if you played a 1A team you got 1A pts. Then, the VHSL forced mixed districts, so the larger schools cried foul because they were forced to take a hit in points.

The following year, the VHSL allowed the extra points for playing a smaller school ONLY if that school was in your district. THEN, smaller schools that wanted to play up and geographically isolated larger schools complained. The small schools because larger schools didn't want to play them because of losing points. The isolated schools because they had 5 smaller schools for every 1 equal sized school within a reasonable travel distance.

So, that led to getting level points for playing down for all teams, regardless of being in district.

Now, there may be incentive to play 1A teams for seeding purposes, but does it really help to get the #1 seed, but then take a loss in the 2nd round because your team wasn't prepared? I guess that's for each coaching staff/school to decide.

I would much rather play a challenging schedule and take a few losses than feast on cupcakes and get tossed from the playoffs every year.

Gotta give Travis credit, he doesn't shy away from competition.

    I agree with you 100%

Heck... Travis properly don't give his kids cupcakes... Hard candy only!! 😁

I have been to Big Stone Gap as recently as last year when Graham played Union. The train horn(s) blew incessantly during live play. I’m guessing at least the secondary reason being to draw offsides penalty. I’ll concede the main reason is to fire up their team’s defense (at least I would hope that’s the reason) Your suggestion as to why the AD acted as he did Friday night about the air horns is entirely plausible after attending the game at Bullit Park last year. My ears were ringing for days, lol.  I’m all for horns, bells, bands, & fans; it makes for a great atmosphere. I’m in agreement with most, live play should not be subjected to a nonstop train horn blowing. Some may disagree.

I agree with you...It not like  we're undefeated when UNION FANS make all the noise with Train & Air horn's, Cowbell's and any other loud devices... The G-men came to Big Stone last year and beat us...My opinion is UNION player's get fired up and player harder when the fans get behind them and cheering loud..🗣🙌💥

  4. Me personally...I have not seen a lot of targeting in high school football. What I have seen is a lot of penalties on hits on defenseless players...with the actions of what we call crack back blocking or taking hits from a blind side like on a kick off when the ball is 20 yards down the field. I've saw a lot of refs throw flags on that particular situation. But I have yet to see a high school player thrown out for targeting.

agree with this. ive already told a couple of the players that if we dont take care of buisness next week then the win over graham dont mean nothing. gotta win conference games at home. these kids are young and hungry so i think they will be focused.

Unions not gonna beat any good teams by much but mainly because of their style, hard to score alot when u have 8 minute drives

I agree with the post above..We have to take GC seriously....

I told my son they're coming in here to punch y'all in the mouth... Do not take Gate City lightly!!!
