bucfan64 got a reaction from pmbstuff in How out of touch with reality can someone be...
Entertainer Tony Bennet made the following quote recently;
“I love everything he’s done and everything he’s doing,” Bennett said of Obama. “I think we should give him all-out support for anything he wants to do. We should all help. He’s giving our country back to us, and that’s the laws of the land – the citizens own the country.”
Anyone that thinks that we should give the president ALL out support for ANYTHING that he wants to do is literally out of their mind and do not have any idea of the meaning of checks and balances.
If this were Bush I would have said the same thing, no one president needs all out support for anything that he wants to do. Opposition is what keeps the parties in check. Everyone in the country will not always agree with the president or congress, regardless of who it might be and the president does not need a blank check to to as he pleases.
Fortunately, this is Tony Bennet and it is his opinion, unfortunately there are many Americans that feel the same way.
The irony of this statment is how it says that the president is giving us back the country, yet in the same breath he suggests that we let the president do as he pleases.
Is this guy out of touch or what?

So, what everyone is saying is that Colobro may very well get the job.
With that being said, I will change the direction of this thread and ask the question that everyone wants to know.
Who will get the job in two years after they run him off?

Sadly, teams become victims of their own success. Fans get "used to it," and begin to expect it, deep playoff runs become the norm and a successful season is seen by many as a failure if the Championship trophy isn't brought back to town.
The real losers are the kids, whether it be those that established the tradition and commitment or the ones who are trying to carry on the legacy. Their efforts seem to be undermined when this happens.
When Grundy started their run in wrestling, we witnessed police escorts, victory parades down 460 all the way to town, now hardly even a mention of it at school, not even a ceremony in front of the student body.
"You don't know what you've got till its gone!"

bucfan64 got a reaction from cityofRaven in Verdict for Richlands
I know first hand that when coaches are ejected that they are not to be in the gymnasium/field and must leave the playing area. Likewise, they are not permitted to be in the gymnasium or on the field during the games included in the suspension. In regards to players, based on my experience with hoops, players have been allowed on the field/gym in casual dress, following an ejection.
My knowledge of this is experience based, but that still doesn't mean that the acting officials, handled everything according to proper protocol.
If I were guessing, he will be allowed to be on the sidelines, in dress clothes.

I think you called the prediction "OUTLANDISH."
In your own words, "You don't watch much high school football in southwest va do ya?
If my prediction. has led you to that assessment, I can only imagine how little you must watch.
This isn't about NEXT YEAR, this is about THIS YEAR, I called it, and you considered it "OUTLANDISH."
Just own it and lets move on.....

bucfan64 got a reaction from 1inStripes in PLEASE CONSIDER! THIS IS A CHALLENGE!!!
http://fundly.com/lloyd-combs-recovery-fund
Guys,
Longtime sportswriter, author, columnist and radio personality, Lloyd Combs, recently suffered from a debilitating stroke. Many of you are probably familiar with his work and articles that often appear in the Bluefield, Bristol and Virginia Mountaineer newspapers. He has covered sports in the region for several decades.
Lloyd is currently undergoing rehab and the doctors are optimistic that he will be walking soon with the assistance of a cane. Presently, he does not have the use of his right arm/hand and it is expected that he will recover some use of it, however it will take longer and more extensive rehab to regain the use of his arm/hand.
Naturally, this setback has created a ton of issues for Lloyd and he is in dire need of help from his friends and family members. We have established a FUNDLY account for Lloyd and we are asking for assistance with medical billing and with his hopeful and eventual move back toward independence.
Lloyd is working hard, he is frustrated, scared and fearful of what his future may hold, he has no desire to let this defeat him, but he really needs our encouragement!
I am taking this opportunity to challenge the members of this board, to PLEASE consider a donation to his account, PLEASE consider thoughtful prayers on his behalf and if nothing else, please post a comment on his Fundly Page to encourage him to keep fighting!
Here is the link:
fundly.com/lloyd-combs-recovery-fund
Once again, please consider a donation, of any size!
Keep Lloyd in your prayers!
Please Sign his Fundly Wall and offer a word or two of encouragement for him!
Lloyd has done so much over the years to help promote local teams, schools and athletes, so lets let him know that he has a support team behind him, helping him get through this very tryin
