  1. Who knows would be nice to see him pared with Adkins the next 2 seasons that is for sure
  2. Will they really get all of those kids though? I get that the Drive Might be a bit better for some but the solid Athleats will they want to play for a team that is averaging 1 or 2 wins a season and will have much poorer athletic facilitys. Add to that the fact that the whole GC coaching situation is described by there fans as a dumpster fire and there top choice as a replacement has been described as a "not a people person" kind of coach I just question how many people and what type of players that situation will attract.
  3. not 100% sure what everyone returns. Central returns most of there Key players but Depth could be a problem as they will need to develop a bench Ridgeview Returns its top 2 scorers and a ton of athletic kids who saw a ton of playing time last season (If they can find a reliable ball handler to free up Frazer and Counts on Offence it will be a big help) Union Returns almost everyone and talent wise is as good as Central or Ridgeview Va High Returns most of there team as well and can beat anyone on a given night
  4. Will come down to match-ups I think The pack has more talent but will need to get more consistent throwing the ball if Abingdon loads up the box to stop the run. Counts (No relation) back at DB and WR should be a boost in that area
  5. Burton is a passing team for the most part Chilhowie by 50+
  6. Agree IMHO the key to any good offence is the ability to attack the defense in several areas with the same look so the Backers and DBs were never 100% sure of what they are seeing until it happens. The T can do that As far as RV goes the combo of Adkins and Sexton is tough on a D if the QB can make the D pay for playing the run to hard. I would like to see more of Adkins split out of motion (It caused a huge coverage mismatch as well as opening the middle of the field up to the QB Draw)
  7. The strength of Union is there Line and there Big Fullback #20 adds some game changing speed but is not a back capable of 20+ carrys inside the tackles I think the T suits the personnel of this team. I THINK that the spread could help get #20 the ball in space a bit more but overall will negate what i feel are Unions offensive strengths. It could be that by making the Spread there default passing formation that Union has neglected to fully develop the passing attack out of the T In my opinion the coachs do not need to scrap anything that they are doing but take the game and work on countering the steps that RV used against them (That others will no doubt mimic after reviewing game film)

Local school tax is generally on Personal Property not sales tax. So Tenn folks buying stuff in VA does not go toward the cost of non resadents going to school there. But as i said if the Scott County Tax payers don't have an issue with it then go for it

Of course that 30th in teacher salary also includes NOVA if those salaries are excluded Va and especially SWVA drops WAY below 30th If Tenn residents think that they are getting a better education at GC and the residents of Scott County do not mind the drag of the extra kids on there property taxes then it sounds like a win win.

    Over the past 5 years the shoemaker number (PK-6) are as follows 17-18 - 565 16-17 - 621 15-16 -625 14-15 - 568 13-14 - 593 Weber City numbers are 17-18 - 329 16-17 - 326 15-16 -340 14-15 - 331 13-14 - 346 It looks to me like an infusion of about 4 dozen kids will bring GC back in line with there 13-14 Numbers so I am sure the room for the kids is defiantly there

Looking at enrollment numbers it looks like both Shoemaker and Weber city are both flat enrollment wise over the last 5 years (Shoemaker had a dip that started about 6 years ago and has bounced back over the last 2 years to the point that they are about at the 2012 numbers That being said with the way schools in our area are losing enrollment staying flat is probably about the same as growing realitivly speaking
  13. Ridgeview should win comfortably how ever I do worry that the Pack may get off to a slow start due to looking ahead to the Union matchup next week. Central is a young team and IMHO will come out with a ton of emotion and will play hard as long as Ridgeview allows them to stay in the ball game.

Do you think so? I heard the same thing about all the St Paul kids going to Castlewood when it consolidated with Coeburn that lasted for about 2 years then Castlewood started losing some of there kids to Eastside

You bring up a good point GC has a rough schedule (not as tough as 2 years ago but still tough) could be they may need to schedule a Lebanon or Eastside or 2
  16. The game changes and teams adapt or everyone would still be running the Notre Dame Box
  17. No they could not. and it would not be close......Collage (Even Small Collage) is on a different level

I keep seeing this but is he really that much better? his teams at Wise were well below par for the talent he had and while he did have success in Abingdon I am not sure he won any games that he should not have won and dropped a few he should have won. Not trying to pick a fight but is Reed REALLY the answer?
  19. I feel like Union is set up to possibly beat better teams via shorting the game with there run heave Offence but will struggle if they fall behind. I think Union played Base D last week as to no have that much on tape for Richlands to scout. Honistly I think both teams should feel good about there chances in this game Richlands mush feel great in knowing that there passing attack looks to be taylor made to put up big numbers on what looks to be the soft spot of the Union D and Union must feel good about there Power running game with there Huge O-line vs an undersized Richlands D Front. Should be a fun game to watch
  20. Chilhowie @ Marion has my vote
  21. Good scrimmage tied at 17 at the half subbing a mix of 1s and 2s in the 3rd and straght 2s and 3s the 4th Chilhowie up 3 after a 42 yard fg that hit the upright and bounced in and Ridgeview missed a 38 yarder wide left Chs has a tough rb and speed at qb nether team looks great passing and will need that addressed if they want to take there game to the next level
  22. Can you recap the honaker/chilhowie game
  23. Did they? The Coach T message boards had DB winning that on by 8 scores to 4 (Not that you can win a scrimmage LOL)
  24. Yep no Clips of there QB those where the only 2 players that had anything posted yet and Highlight Videos can be VERY misleading
