Grundy sends 12 to the State Tourney this weekend in the hunt for State Championship #19...good luck and safe travels to everyone who's making the trip.

The IRS decides to audit Grandpa, and summons him to the IRS office. The IRS auditor was not surprised when Grandpa showed up with his attorney. The auditor said, ‘Well, sir, you have an extravagant lifestyle and no full-time employment, which you explain by saying that you win money gambling. I’m not sure the IRS finds that believable.’
 
‘I’m a great gambler, and I can prove it,’ says Grandpa. ‘How about a demonstration?’
 
The auditor thinks for a moment and says, ‘Okay. Go ahead. ‘
 
Grandpa says, ‘I’ll bet you a thousand dollars that I can bite my own eye.’
 
The auditor thinks a moment and says, ‘It’s a bet.’
 
Grandpa removes his glass eye and bites it. The auditor’s jaw drops.
 
Grandpa says, ‘Now, I’ll bet you two thousand dollars that I can bite my other eye.’
 
The auditor can tell Grandpa isn’t blind, so he takes the bet.
 
Grandpa removes his dentures and bites his good eye. The stunned auditor now realizes he has wagered and lost three grand, with Grandpa’s attorney as a witness. He starts to get nervous.
 
‘Want to go double or nothing?’ Grandpa asks ‘I’ll bet you six thousand dollars that I can stand on one side of your desk, and pee into that wastebasket on the other side, and never get a drop anywhere in between.’
 
The auditor, twice burned, is cautious now, but he looks carefully and decides there’s no way this old guy could possibly manage that stunt, so he agrees again.
 
Grandpa stands beside the desk and unzips his pants, but although he strains mightily, he can’t make the stream reach the wastebasket on the other side, so he pretty much urinates all over the auditor’s desk.
 
The auditor leaps with joy, realizing that he has just turned a major loss into a huge win. But Grandpa’s own attorney moans and puts his head in his hands.
 
‘Are you okay?’ the auditor asks.
 
‘Not really,’ says the attorney. ‘This morning, when Grandpa told me he’d been summoned for an audit, he bet me twenty-five thousand dollars that he could come in here and pee all over your desk and that you’d be happy about it.’

It would... or play them on separate nights at least, with the boys and girls finals on the same court.

1) It's Dillan with an "a" not an "o" but its never spelled correctly.
2) His is an upcoming Sr.
 
For what its worth, Wade was the only defensive player out during the Grundy game thus Dillan replaced him. Dillan led the team in tackles that game.

It does make a difference and it SHOULD be played. 
 
Truth is, Graham didn't want to play because they didn't want to risk losing the #1 seed in the SEC.  That's all there is to it, plain and simple...

IF they go to 1A then they are where they have to be in the BDD, but if they stay 2A for whatever reason, they should be in the SWD. 
 
They should have never been put in the BDD in the first place as a 2A school...Christian Jackson should have been on one of the "all something" teams this year, kid is all state caliber WR and DB but got nothing.
 
I thought the entire point of the VHSL changes was to force people to play where they are classified...then you see the SWD get busted up and Grundy stuck in a 1A district as a 2A team. Why bother?  8 to 10 team SWD would solve a lot of problems...and as that goes, the VHSL should go back to the format where winning your district gets you in to the playoffs, then points for the remaining slots...this crap with 1-9 teams going to play 10-0 teams in first round is a waste, not everyone should make the playoffs or have that shot only the best of the bunch. Larger 8+ team districts would breed better competition at a local level, remove schedule issue, and restore traditional rivals...but, whatever...VHSL never has done anything right so why start now.

This. I'd rather play the big boys and have a few losses but get better as a result than play a pushover each week. The Bluefield @ Richlands game on Friday should have a good crowd.

The game winning margin was by 14 points, 77-63.  The Bears,  per Bristol newspaper,  were 26 of 42 at the foul line.  The Blues were 12 of 18 from the foul line.  The 14 point margin for the Bears to seal the win came at the charity stripe.

You Union fans are the biggest bunch of crybabies I've ever seen.  I used to think Gate City fans were the worst but you guys have taken that title and run away with it.
 
You're never happy about anything, even when you win...its always something: the fans, the refs, the food you ate pregame, you're team didn't win by 1,000 points, etc...

Why in the hell would they build a school near Tri-Cities airport and send the North kids to it???   That's the most ignorant thing I've ever heard of.  I don't blame the North parents for being pissed off.  There is no easy route for those kids to take to get to school.  Sounds like the Sullivan Co. officials are as bad with geography as the VHSL is...especially if the school is being built near the airport.

Grundy and Graham have been near or at the same level for years...they are either too big for A or too small for AA...pick or choose...if they make the cut at AA by the numbers they should both be in the SWD...I've hated every single second of Grundy not being in the SWD and will continue to do so until it's back...if that never happens then so be it...but, it still sucks.
