Researcher, I cannot thank you enough for posting these. It's been a joy to read and see the ebbs and flows of each team. Further, the repository of information is far beyond impressive. Certainly appears to be a labor of love.

People can bash Marion for being in the HOGO but let's remember those boys playing on that field had nothing to do with it. It's very sad when Marion has that many more students than the other schools but can only get the same amount or less of boys out for ball that the other smaller HOGO teams can. I am a Northwood alum but my children attend Marion now and I get so sick of hearing everyone bash Marion about the HOGO move. These young men that are playing for Marion could give two shits which district they play in, they play because they love the game. I would be inclined to agree with Marion playing in another district if they could get more kids interested in playing football but that will not happen until the current head coach is ran off. I mean if you have 300 plus boys in your school and you can only get 40 out for ball then that's a coaching problem. You can bash Marion all you want but the only ones really getting hurt are the kids playing sports because of the decisions some adults made.

This may get ugly. Union is the real deal and Ridgeview are going through the growing pains that some of us said they would (hey, UVAO). And with Hill out and the QB/CB that got nicked up last week, this doesn't lean well for the Wolfpack. This game will be a marquee game in a few years. But right now, I just think Union is lightyears ahead of where Ridgeview is. 

The combined record for Narrows and Bland is 5-1. I'm looking Heavenward for seals and trumpets...

As I've said all year Northwood was overrated and last night they got exposed, they play in a weak district and they play a very weak non district schedule, and for the record I am not a Northwood hater I am an Alum (Class Of 89).

I just don't understand this. It's going to rain all weekend long. You are only letting the field get worse.

It's football.  Fields are supposed to be torn up.  It's an all-element game.

I myself was a Steer then a Panther and thought Dean Rhea should have gotten that job but he knew he had no chance so he left for Rural Retreat. All I can say is just think what Northwood missed out on.... I have nothing against Peaches Arnold but he was past his coaching prime and Dean had just started his, hopefully the powers that be in D County will think long and hard about their choices.

Bland Rockets and they wore maroon and gold. Rocky Gap Eagles and they wore green and white. Also when Northwood was formed we students got to vote on school colors and the winner was blue and gold but some people from Saltville raised a little stink and it got changed.

I got Jamaal Charles'd in Round 1. Not much you can do but tip your hat. Congrats to you, 2DJF!
