The worst used to be hurley, the endzone in the corner of the "cliff" was a swamp and had an odd orange tint to it. Heard they redid the whole field though, they say it looks alot better.

Played at gate city a few years ago in a region champ game im sure lance you were there i think it was 2000. other than prestonsburg ky. some of the "louder" fans i think in 4 yrs i played aginst. NOt saying its a bad thing me personaly i like a "bad" place for an away team to play, loved the haters!!! but i can remember when we where warming up they had to get the police to come stand behind us because me,hipps,dales,stacy and a few others were getting harrased from fans that were too close and coaches felt for our saftey. When your in high school thats a bad thing for kids. dont get me wrong we got waxed but still not so sure thats the way a school wants to be remembered.

do have one question for u lance could u tell from where u were at on the fumble what happened the grundy kid came out of the pile with it and then they gave the ball to haysi wasnt really for sure what happend there

i think Grundy wins in a close one the rb runs hard for grundy as little as he is and the qb has gotten faster over the years plus has a good arm not heard much on haysi hope its a good game and yes the kicker is good and just a fr. saw him kick a 47 yarder in practice before the twin valley game LOL 7 fgs in a half pretty sure that would be close to a national record it was 7 in one game vs Twin valley in 02

Garon was good def. in top 3 or 4 at Grundy but i dont ever really remember hipps ever being a power back he would rather run around you than over you. scammell was more of a power back and so was stacy even though both of them were the smaller ones on the field. as for the 04 team being one of the better ones theres 96,97,01,02 that i think was better teams overall three of those four went to state semi's

Hate to say it but just dont think garon is the best that came though grundy overall at rb Hipps i think overall was a better rb if u remember correctly hipps split carries with prater freshman year and stacy so. and jr. year then garon and aw sr. not to mention all the carries that dales got at fb.

Wasnt old enough to really remember cary playing but i do know one year in college he was the va state player of the year. i think in his time he owned almost all of Grundy's records on offense (running passing rec.) from all the stories ive heard he was an amazing all around player
