I have not seen GW play yet, but I have seen Marion. I will say Marion just may be the Most improved team in SWVA. I know their schedule thus far has been weak, but I was impressed With Marion's play. They run their offense very well, with some size and quickness. They have Several skill players who are tough. Their backs run hard, and their passing game is pretty Darn good. Their Defense is solid, and their Coaching is always solid too. Don't sell Canes short this Year. GW will flood the field with athletes as usual, but Marion just may surprise. I am not Saying the Canes will pull an upset, but it might be closer than most think.

Hey guys, this Richlands/Union series for the last four years has been something That Hollywood could not write or script. It's something ESPN should pick up On. You just don't make up stuff like the last four games between these teams and Communities. I have never seen anything like it. Simply unbelievable!

I am not sure what to think of Union having to go deep into the 3rd qrt to put Away JI Burton. BHC said Burton dressed 22 players, and ran the ball down Union's Throat for about 3 qrts. Then Union exploded late in the game for a score that was Misleading for the most part. JIB is huge in the line, so I guess the backs just followed their lead for 3 qrts Until JIB was gassed. I see Richlands winning this one, but not by a complete blowout early. Richlands Is no doubt the best team, but the Mitchell kid can play with the best. Richlands 36 Union 34. Stay healthy folks!

Maybe they can just stream the live high school games to our homes, that way we won't have To bother to go the games and watch our kids play. Just kidding, of course, but my goodness, Just think of the money being spent on this tech, when in most schools half the kids are On free lunch, and the parents are unemployed because of a terrible economy, and Churches Are having a hard time paying their bills. It is priorities My Friends that we as citizens must embrace for our society. We must just Slow down sometime and smell the roses, as the saying goes. Enjoy the moment. Don't jump At the new idea that may seem cool to a few. What are we teaching our youth in our schools; How to win at all costs, or how to play the game with no cost to our integrity.

Thanks for the Web site on Skycoach. I guess that I am just old school, not that today's tech Is bad, but if it is used, then it should be available to both schools during the game. Hey, in the NFL, if somethings goes wrong with the coaches head sets on one side, the game is Stopped until the problem is fixed. If the problem is not fixed, then both teams can not use The head sets. The game has changed so much with social media being what it is in today's society. It is a Different world out there My Friend. A world in which things can change in a blink of the eye. Our youth are exposed to a world far different than their parents and grandparents ever dreamed. The game has changed so much than what it was just a few years ago. Is all this change for the best? It certainly is if the change makes the game we all love safer for our youth, but if the change Is just to gain an edge on the other team, then I got to think about that for a while!We have Folks out there that are trying to sell anything to us all, just to make a lousy buck, and Sometimes at the expense of the integrity of the game itself.

Things have changed a lot in VHSL Football. I can remember the days when it was against VHSL rules to view any tape or film of the current game at half time in the locker. Things Have obviously changed. WOW! I guess it is all about trying to get any edge in a game to Win. Definitely different than the old days when you just straped it on and go out there And give it your best for 4 qrts, with blood, sweat and tears and a whole lot of Pride, And after the game everyone shook hands and said good game!

Red tiger, What you said makes sense to me.. I was wondering what the cost of the helmet pads were? Would you know, or anyone else know How much per helmet they would be for a school?

I know that a lot of folks are high on Brady Justice from Hurley as the best RB in SWVA, and I am one of those . But Cousins from Graham is a Beast. The guy can score just about every time He touches the ball. He is something special, My Friends. Graham is a legitimate threat to Go to the final 4 this year. They will need to stay healthy, and their defense will need to Keep improving. The potential is there, and I see a strong finish for the GMEN this year! Best of luck to the GMEN !

Anyone have a score from Abingdon/ PH?

PH will be a good A1 TEAM, and should stay with the Falcons for a qrt or two. But Abingdon just has too much skill and depth in this one. Humphrey is as good as they Get at RB for PH, but the Rebs will need more than just him. Sturgill is the best in SWVA, along with Asbury for Richlands, and he should showcase His skills tonight in Emory. Falcons 42 PH 14

I should say that I am very surprised that Hurley has not received much recognition This preseason. I think the Rebs are going to have a great year, and will be hard To take out. I don't see them being challenged that much in the regular season, And I see them going deep into A1 West. Their numbers are OK and that TB is the best Around in A1. I have not seen them yet, But Plan to soon. Best of luck Rebels . I love to pull for the under dogs and the small Schools. Give them h*8l Rebels!
