Good luck RED!!!! yall be safe riding over to the "other side" !!!!!!

Here are three proud and tradition rich "boys of fall" teams still battling for that state crown!!! What a blessed area we are to have three SWVA teams still in the hunt for the championship.
 
The Haysi Tigers, a small community with a big heart and rabid fan base for their Red Tigers.  This is a team who has one of the best coaching staffs "bar none," that can bring home a win Saturday against Essex.  Can they do it--I believe so!!
 
The Honaker Tigers, another small community with a big heart and rabid fan base for their Orange Tigers.  Coach Hubbard has had some lean years in his tenure, but with a coaching staff who committed with him to make this one of the premier programs in SWVA, great job.  The Orange Tigers have the tools, coaching and players to get the home win against Altavista.  Can they do it--I believe so!!! No defeat on your field-Tigers
 
The Richlands Blue Tornado, another small community with a big heart and rabid fan base for their Big Blue.  Coach Mance and staff will have the team ready!!!  If you doubt this--just stay home!!!  When this season started 0-2, the naysayers were already talking of the Blues demise--but these coaches, these boys and the fans who believed in them knew,  "the cream would rise to the top".  My Blues can,  and I believe will come back to SWVA with a "W" next to the lighting R.  Fear makes you see what is against you, faith makes you see what is for you.  Fans be LOUD, be PROUD and CHEER from the warmups to the final second on the clock.
 
The common denominator in all three of these programs are long-coaching tenures, a staff with a commitment to their community, the kids that come through their programs and the withal to give their all.

It is possible!! And honestly the VHSL should really want Haysi, Richlands, and Honaker all to win in the semis ... can you imagine the gate that would bring in? I hear Altavista travels well but Essex ... not so much!

The game was in late September and Galax did improve quite a bit since that time.  If that game would have been later in the season, I believe the score would have been much similar to last year but the result would still be an Altavista victory.  I can see an argument being made where Galax suffered from "bus lag" much like Clintwood did in that Grayson game.  I was at the Grayson/Clintwood game and the Galax/Clintwood game that season.  The Clintwood team that played Galax in Salem was nowhere near the team that laid an egg at Grayson.  Was it travel fatigue?  Who knows for certain.  
 
Galax wasn't manhandled like you would think given a 56-7 score.  Altavista scored on a pick-six, fumble and kickoff return.  They continually got a short field due to Galax inability to punt the football with any consistency. Galax was thoroughly outplayed on special teams.

Saw them play at Liberty several years ago.... they were in the D4 championship game i think and their fans were crrraaaazy!! I think they played after Richlands that day!! Not sure the year... they all run together.

Where ya at Rebel Pride? 0-3 on your predictions…..

Congrats Honaker!  Simply the better team in every facet.

Thanks, man.  Skeens is one of our best defensive players, so he was missed on that side of the ball.  Truth is, I don't believe a healthy Skeens and Phillips would have mattered a great deal. Maybe a closer game, sure, but the best team won beyond a shadow of a doubt.
 
Looking forward to the next two seasons with you guys as well!  Iron sharpens iron, as they say.

Do you mean "now" you are pulling for Haysi? or "you know I am" pulling for Haysi. I cant understand what the hell you are trying to say. Earlier you picked Galax over Haysi, now you are picking Haysi over Galax. Or were your earlier comments wrong because you just had no idea what you were talking about? Nevermind, I think ive figured it out

Im sorry and i knw im settin ur next comment up (have at it) but I must be stupid because u post this stuff and 20 people correct you in multiple places on the site about who we play ... u say it wrong again unless u really are predicting a Galax(MAROON TIDE)/Honaker State title matchup.. please at least be clear when u post .. if people have ask what u are talkin about then u prob should jus not post ... i can totally accept u pullin against the Tigers ... thats cool and its definitely ur right if u do but again Honaker plays George Wythe (MAROONS) on saturday before we go any farther!! If we do go farther... instructions for rebel pride: 1) read, 2) think, 3) post remotely intelligently so people are clearly understanding u ... these steps will make u seem more like u knw what ur talkin about and less like a ???? Whats the word im lookin for here guys??? And gals??

I thought the game was called evenly as well and woulda thought that if we had lost. Honestly, there is NO game that you cant go back and say "they missed this call or that call." Some calls are bigger than others and i see ur point there about calls can change the MO. Honaker moved the ball on the first 3 drives and without the INT, fumble, 2nd fumble/penalty to back us up ... the score woulda been 21-0 before radford got going... those were MO changers for us for sure but we put ourself in the situation for the score to remain close, the refs didnt put us there.

I have heard folks say VH$L finally has a 6A system, I just laugh, because they have had 6A in football for years they just didn't call it that

Just imagine if we had athletes. Have a safe trip next week Blues!
