Here are three proud and tradition rich "boys of fall" teams still battling for that state crown!!! What a blessed area we are to have three SWVA teams still in the hunt for the championship.
 
The Haysi Tigers, a small community with a big heart and rabid fan base for their Red Tigers.  This is a team who has one of the best coaching staffs "bar none," that can bring home a win Saturday against Essex.  Can they do it--I believe so!!
 
The Honaker Tigers, another small community with a big heart and rabid fan base for their Orange Tigers.  Coach Hubbard has had some lean years in his tenure, but with a coaching staff who committed with him to make this one of the premier programs in SWVA, great job.  The Orange Tigers have the tools, coaching and players to get the home win against Altavista.  Can they do it--I believe so!!! No defeat on your field-Tigers
 
The Richlands Blue Tornado, another small community with a big heart and rabid fan base for their Big Blue.  Coach Mance and staff will have the team ready!!!  If you doubt this--just stay home!!!  When this season started 0-2, the naysayers were already talking of the Blues demise--but these coaches, these boys and the fans who believed in them knew,  "the cream would rise to the top".  My Blues can,  and I believe will come back to SWVA with a "W" next to the lighting R.  Fear makes you see what is against you, faith makes you see what is for you.  Fans be LOUD, be PROUD and CHEER from the warmups to the final second on the clock.
 
The common denominator in all three of these programs are long-coaching tenures, a staff with a commitment to their community, the kids that come through their programs and the withal to give their all.

We are trying to organize a convoy of cars into the stadium for the game Saturday. We want to come in flags flying, horns honking, and making noise from the second we arrive to prove a point.

With that said, if you are coming to the game, meet at the WALMART parking lot off of exit 222. We are going to roll out to the field at 11:30. So be at the Walmart by 11:20 to make sure you get in on the convoy.

Our boys deserve a large crowd, and we need to show them and the WM fans that we mean business and will be loud and proud for our men.

Well no doubt Honaker has had a tough draw in these playoffs. No doubt in my mind they are the underdog even playing at home. I do hope the Tigers can play physical and mistake free football. I haven't seen Altavista play but know they are for real. They probably have the best player in at least 1A. Going to be a tough one to win but you never know they may come down here and come out flat and turn the ball over a few times.
 
I will be pulling hard for Honaker!

on the targeting hit. It was a 2 forearm shot to the head. Wasnt dirty, wasnt meant to be a shot to the head but thats what it was. Legit call. 
 
The refs didnt decide the game. If those 2 teams played 10 times I say they split 5-5. Galax is a great football team. Through determination, pride and some sand Haysi escaped with the win. 
 
Potentially the last play in the programs history, EVERYTHING on the line and Colley goes for 2 and gets it. Great execution by the players. Truthfully, if the game would have went to overtime Haysi wouldnt have been able to stop the Galax ground game. Personally I think their Offense was better this year than last. Their OL was INCREDIBLE! Dixon is a freat back but on a lot of those runs he didnt get touched by more than a hand for the first 10 yards

Your welcome Redtiger. Someone else said something about King William. I am not sure where these schools are located so I really don't know. It would be a mute point if CB wins, they only lost to Essex by 8 in the regular season. Also both Tigers have to win which I hope they do. Good luck to both Tigers this weekend. 

I can assure you Galax has nothing but respect for both schools and communities.  Galax was eliminated rather emphatically by Honaker (2012) and Haysi (2013) each of the past two years.  The folks that we met in both communities were nothing but gracious, courteous, welcoming and helpful in offering directions, places to eat and inviting us to tailgate along side them.  This is the very reason I have stated before, I would love to see Galax schedule more old Region D opponents in all sports in the future for no other reason than the wonderful people you meet along the way.

How original RP, those of us from Galax have never heard that one before!  Did you come up with that all by yourself?

LOL. Every team or community in SWVA has a Falconman or Southbound and I suppose Rebel Pride is Hurley's. Oh well...this Hurley guy will be cheering for the Tigers of Honaker and Haysi. BDD Pride!

Honaker had a very good game plan and came out on top and that's all that matters.  Thad back up QB looked better than the starting QB. People don't get it twisted a lot of Hurley people were there puling for the tigers. I don't know what "Rebel Pride" is smoking but don't get him tangled up with all Hurley people. I think people assume that Radford would beat Honaker because they did not struggle with Hurley and Honaker did for the first half. Its all about match-ups. Honaker showed a lot of character at the end of the game and also showed why they are one of the top teams around. Again, don't get it twisted Hurley is pulling for ya.  Good luck next week and keep representing the BDD!!
