  1. I got hosed by a medical staff once, when I was in a coma.

  2. Logan is only a soph. He's about 6'5". He played qb and wide receiver on the football team at Gretna. The whole team played football and it took them awhile to get going this season. All this according to the Gretna scorekeeper. Coming from a Dogs fan, Gretna is very athletic, good defensively and well coached. They like to play in transition and are always looking to push the ball up the court. Martinsville was able to control the tempo for the most part but we were unable to hit enough shots to pull it out. It was a 2 point game with a minute to go last night but Gretna scored the last 6 points for the win.

  3. They will most likely clear the facility after the 1A games so they can keep the money separate from the 2A gate.

  4. $$$$$$ maybe? If they’d had them back to back maybe Graham/VH could have played at 7:30pm there. At VT they’re playing 4 games & cost is $15 per day. They could have done that.

  5. As for Graham and GC. Credit to Todd Baker. He pulled off some high level stuff in my opinion. Used his athleticism as much as possible to counter GC's size and strength, but also saved his athleticism and the press until the 4th quarter because Graham has a limited number of guys that play, so didn't want to gas them. That was like landing an airplane or balancing a tightrope based on the timing, when to do, how to do it with the guys he had, etc. Wizardry was pulled in GC last night by Graham's head man.

  6. It was their region championship. Gretna won 41-33.

  7. Same as Graham and VH. It's their region title. Radford and Floyd are eliminated. For the Graham-VH winner or loser, it sounds like it's about the same. Seems like all 4 teams left are very close and anything goes. I guess I would rather play at home instead of away, so the region title games do matter because that home court advantage might be the tiny difference in 4 pretty darn evenly matched teams it seems.

  8. The boys were at least competitive in their games. The M7 and SWD are close most years. The M7 has DOMINATED the entire state in girls:) Central got hosed by the VCU medical staff one year but have won what 7? GC has won 2 and RV has also won state titles.

  9. It doesn't matter how or why JM is doing it, or if it somehow falls within the rules of the VHSL. They are clearly on another level from everyone else in the state. High school classifications exist for the SOLE reason of promoting fairness. If we don't care about fairness let's just do like KY and everybody play everybody for the state. Everyone knows it's a joke, some of the Class 2 administrators need to make a stand and say enough with this crap, we aren't going along with this farce. Make them play Class 6 or something and allow the real class 2 schools to play each other. How on earth Ty White and his team would even WANT a bunch of Class 2 trophies is beyond me. I mean, you got a team full of power 5 players, congrats for being the best of 50 class 2 schools who might have a handful of low level college players on all 50 teams combined. Where is their pride??? What if Oak Hill didn't exist and Steve Smith just decided to coach Marion and bring all those guys in and Marion mopped the floor with every team in the state for years and years. You think the folks on the other side of the state would have been ok with that? Absolutely not.

  10. If Graham gives them 12 points again right off the bat, it’s going to be tough to pull out a win. Graham is capable of winning but not letting the Bearcats have a run like that at the beginning of the game.

  11. It is all about the package that each entity puts together. Obviously WVU has the Ace of Spades when it comes to a stadium. 95% of WV high school players would prefer the life experience of playing at WVU. Marshall is nice but it is not where WV players dream of playing. But you also have to show volunteers willing to fill hundreds of duties. You have to have corporate sponsors to provide meals, souvenirs, rooms, logistics, etc. Bluefield checks all the boxes except rooms and meals. This is why they tried to work with Princeton but Princeton really wasn't that interested because most of these businesses really aren't located in the city limits. Charleston checks all of the boxes. Morgantown and Huntington put in a bid to rotate the championships but all my information shows it was hastily put together and was lacking in details. The new director of the WVSSAC is from Charleston. The previous one is from Wheeling. When the last bidding was done four years ago the previous director openly admitted Bluefield's bid was a little better than Wheeling's but he was just comfortable with what Wheeling did and was keeping it there. No one else bid on the games four years ago except Bluefield and Wheeling.
