As a Marion fan, I can relate to Richlands. Ever since NAFTA and American Furniture shut down, we've had a hard time keeping quality couches down here.

It must be tough playing football for Marion knowing that if you were a once in a generation football talent, equal to an Ahmad Bradshaw, Thomas Jones, or even maybe Bill Dudley, you'll never be the best athlete to play home games at that football stadium just because of the damn baseball diamond in the east endzone.

I can't remember which team it was, but some where around 2013-2014 a visiting team won the coin toss at Marion and elected to "choose end of the field" rather than kick or receive to make sure that they weren't playing into the sand pit of the baseball infield during the 2nd and 4th quarters in the rain.

Let's not sleep on Mountain Dew as a secondary fight song, which not only took some ingenuity, but also the use of a song traditionally recognized as a bluegrass song and performing it as a marching band number is the most "SWVA sports" thing that I can imagine. 

Barney plays a bit timid. On the other hand, no one can match the energy and tenacity of Ernest T.  Unfortunately, his low football IQ and defiant behavior are holding him back.

He’s often overlooked and overshadowed by his cousin Gomer but without Goober’s blocking, the Granite Bears wouldn’t be in this position. 

Marion's only chance is if Tazewell takes a dive to rid their trophy case of this.

All things considered, GC and Marion seemed pretty evenly matched, which is kinda shocking considering how last week went for both teams.
