If I was chosen to have an opinion for graham I would say Yes & Yes.
 
But to clarify, I'm a football fan in general. I like to think I comment on all area teams how I see them and how I perceive them. I said I was a graham supporter but that's mainly because of where my property lies. I probavly wont be a G-Man super fan until my kids get a few years older.

Mance is always classy so I'm sure the score won't be to bad. Everything that ive herd from the tigers is they have no fire or killer instinct at all. Hopefully they learn alot firday night and no matter what the score they fight for 4 quarters.
 
Its unfortunate that this series wasn't a little more competitive with only one win going to Honaker in the first game but it's done it's job over the years and it's time to move on.

Imo it's ok to acknowledge those championships won by the old schools, but those are not the new schools championships by any means!

Now the key will be getting out of the benefit game injury free. Something they havent been able to do recently!

Graham would always have a potential out of district opponent in Galax as much as they love to run up and down Mitchell.

The only way I see them going full time spread is because they don't have the running backs to run the pro I formation that they have run for years. Basically out of default. Hilton is a very capable QB to sling the ball around but the line play is going to have to improve tremendously from last year. The rb pool is not very deep this year for the tigers.

The Rocket Toss and the quick play action pass to one of the offenses best players(the Wing Back) are the things that make the Flexbone a more viable offense than the Wishbone. With those two plays the Offense can hit the edge QUICK and get their playmakers in space. It allows less talented teams to get their best playmakers the ball in space and mitigates the offenses lack of size/speed/skill by replacing those with execution. 
 
What most teams that try to run the Flex don't have is a BULL of a FB.  What they need is a FB who when the QB makes the wrong read and gives still gets 3-4 yards,a ball carrier that forces ends to not jump outside and forces MLBs to stay home instead of flying down the line.
 
Flexbone would be a good move for Battle imo but what would help them a lot more is a weight program and some dedication in that area

Honaker has implemented aspects of the Spread since the late 90s(around 98-99). In 02 they were much better in 4 Wide than under center.  Hubbard will run the formations and plays that suit the talent he has; when they have a QB they throw the ball, when they don't they run it. Simple as that.
 
From what I saw of them last season they looked better in Shotgun, assuming most of that team is back it wouldn't surprise me at all to see the Tigers in the gun most of the time, that doesn't mean they are a "Spread" team.
 
There aren't more than a handful of teams in the state on the 1A level that can legitimately run the "Spread". Haysi had some of the better QBs in the region over the years and a plethora of really good WRs but we were based in Split Backs and I-Form. To run 3-4 wide consistently and be good you have to have 2-3 really good WRs and most schools just dont

Yea Honaker didnt lose much at all off of the semifinal team from last year. It should be another deep run for the tigers in 1a
