I think the qualls kid is a awesome QB it sucks If we lost him but 10 back there will put another threat back there with is legs an he can throw.  Was always the QB in 8th 9th grade.  He isnt listed as the back up but i guarantee If Bailey is out he will be back there.  An from what I just Hurd he is fine got a few text from coaches that he is ok.

I think your assessment EH31 is spot on. I think Union did dominate most of the game,especially on D. Offensively the play calling for the Bears was questionable IMO but I'm not a coach so I won't criticize. Richlands offense just couldn't seem to get anything going. The TD was a busted play that worked out. I was glad to see a classy,well played game and I agree these two will meet again. But I think Union is 2-3 tds better this year.

Union has a good kicker as well. 

Sorry about that, was spelling it phonetically as it sounded to me.  Gosh, as old as my ears are, be glad it wasn't Gallon. 

Any win is a good win I suppose but I felt like Union could have played better. I honestly feel like we didn't show all of what we had. The running game looks good but o line still needs work. I don't think Turner looked his best, he made a few good throws but I totally agree with a statement above that he seemed to be in slow motion on screens and short passes. Defense looked good but Burton wasn't much of a test. Kicking game looks solid, and for goodness sakes the kids name is Falin..lol
All in all a decent start but I think we are better than we showed. Poor Burton may win the Cumberland but it's not because they are loaded. 

something seemed off mentally tonight. I can't put my finger on it. Maybe it was since they were playing Burton. I think things will Ramp up when the Blue Tornado come to town.

I agree with all of that ^ and add that is the most solid I have seen our run defense, unless Betsy was incredibly bad.  If memory serves, Betsy only had one run longer than 5 yards with the majority around 2 yards or less. Their passing attack was a good test as well. QB was the size of a D1 college team (6'5" 215) and had good timing. Their receivers ran pretty good timing routes. He didn't do very well scanning the field though.
Considering that was our first scrimmage and their 3rd, I was very impressed.
Edit.....according to their hudl page that was Betsy's 4th scrimmage.

Pretty good start for the Bears. Started a little slow on offense. O line is going to take a little work. Once things settled in they moved the ball really well. Wide receivers are going to be hard to handle. Defense looks very solid up front, Secondary should come along okay. Score with starters on the field was 24- 10. Elizabethton was a solid opponent. Very strong up front defensively.

Great thread topic.. as much as I want to go Mountain I'm not sure I can. I think both districts will be similar this season with Union and Richlands at the top and everybody else playing for 2nd. But I do think the remainder in the SWD are overall going to be better.

No.. not just anyone can show up and "walk on" a college football team. There has to be some interest there from the program. It's not like an open tryout. Seldom does a walk on do more than be a practice squad guy but of course there's always exceptions.
